I just bought a new, never-fired K9 Elite 03 to keep my PM9 company. Today I field-stripped it prior to its first range trip and found this number written in red pen inside the dust cover. Has anyone else found anything like this in their new K9?

My T40 had number 2 on the slide and inside the dust cover. The gun came from budsgunshop.com

I checked the slide pretty carefully but didn't see any number. I'm the second owner (the first owner never shot it) and I don't know where he bought it. I'm guessing the number has to do with matching up parts during the manufacturing process. One more thing that makes Kahrs unique! I did email customer service to see what they have to say.

I'm not sure, but I'd say that is a thing called seventeen. :)

I'm sure acetone or nail polish remover would probably take it off.

Good thing your followers (of which I possess several) are better than your jokes!

Kahr responded quickly to my question:

"Good morning. Thank you for the question. This is an inspection check from our quality control room. Usually they are wiped off prior to being shipped. It is nothing to be concerned about. I hope this information helps!"
