I just purchased a set of Dawson Precision Fiber Optic Sights for my new MK9. I just wanted to know if anyone has changed their MK9 sights? I wanted to verify that on the MK9 the sights are removed left to right when looking down the slide sighting a target...The Kahr MK9 pdf shows the sights right to left. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
From left to right.
Some folks complain about Kahr sights being a futhermocker to take off. I didn't find this to be true, but....
Use enough vice. A BIG and HEAVY vice, on a STRONG and HEAVY bench. Pad the slide well, but not in paper or leather. I use two strips of walnut, dense wood. Oak would do. Hickory. You get the idea. Pine and other softies will crush and absorb the blow from the hammer and punch.
Use a smallish hammer that you can swing well. I use a ball end hammer that is maybe 2-3/4 inches in length and an about an inch around.
Use a STRONG brass punch. Brownells has a punch that is pretty fat. It has a shorty end of brass that fits in a steel handle, and the brass is replaceable, or can be changed for nylon. Thinkin... its gotta be 5/16 inch or maybe 3/8 in diameter.
And use repeated tap-tap-taps.... sort of like an impact wrench type of action.
It will come off with ease.

I've changed them with the $80 or $90 sight pusher everybody uses. They eject on the same side as a round does.
