This gun was purchased new a few weeks ago. Is it normal to have this kind of tooling marks inside and outside of the slide? Does the PM9 have the same tooling marks? The gun has been 100% reliable and accurate (250 rounds so far)….So I don’t really mind the tooling marks….. I’m just wondering.

The inside of PM looks like yours but the exterior doesn't have any tooling marks

I would touch that up with some Flitz. Probably, the mill bit was at the end of sharpness. QC probably at lunch.
I would touch that up with some Flitz.
My CW380 has those marks on that ramp, but nowhere else. I took a dremel with a felt tip and Flitz to it for a while. Now I have very shiny tool marks. They're deep enough that you'd have to remove some metal to get rid of them. Doesn't seem to cause any problems, so I'm not messin' with it.

Kind of a poor man's jeweling.
With the recent lack of Jocko's participation, I'll give it a try:
"Shoot the fokker like you stole it!"
Thank you.

really sorry about my participation to, I have been very lazy about posting. It just seems every time I get on here, there is no real issues like we used to have to talk about some years back. Kahrs are top grade today, THEY FOKKERS GO BANG WHEN NEEDED. Ihve not shot in thge last two months even, just lazy.. Idropped a lifter in my 2010 cvo streetglide at 65K miles, and it proceeded to total my engine, , so stillunder warranty, it is being redone by a privateteer who is rated as one of the best with the twin cam engines. Fi9rst thing he told me when he gave my the results of what happened was that it will ned a new flywheel/crank assembly as the lifter totaled the shapft, and he will weld the new assembly beforeit ever goes in the bike. You Harleyt Riders know what he is talking about to. Shoud have it all back and running with moerican Made (WOOD companyt LIFTERS from Ohio) While the bike is down I am goaingyto just have a top end done on it.. thank Goodness for extended warranty...Riding the wifes streetglide right now. My son just bought a new sportster iron 883 and it is a reall bad ass loking and fun bike..
I have beenhaving a hard time sitting lately as Bawanna has been chewing on my ass for not posting more. But CJB is right, if you own a kahr, just shoot the fokker like you stole it..

super engine, indeed, if I was 5 years younger, it would be in my stables. It will be a real winner but in the meantime dealers will not want our twin cam bikes, and will fokk you on trades...
That's Milwakee-8, not 88 The Twin Cam 88 is a totally different (yet nice) engine.

I drive a Lexus and have no idea what you guys are talking about. My only knowledge in car engine is that I have to bring the damn thing for service every 5k miles….I’m being reminded by an annoying warning…..I’m so lazy that I usually delay the service for a few hundred miles…..Currently I’m a private member of a long range gun range and a truck would serve me better….Especially for painting steels at 1100 yards. My buddy has a truck, but often I’m just by myself….
The outside tooling marks are only on the slide serrations and you only see them if you pay attention. The rest of the slide is very slick. I’ve already racked the slide 200 times before going to the range. I have already shot a few hundred rounds to make sure the gun is reliable (not one single issue). I’m going to leave as is. The purpose of this topic was just curiosity.
BTW, I’d be very interested to see the tooling marks captured at your recent colonoscopy. Please post it here so that everyone can enjoy.

My bad, CJB. 8 valves, 1 cam. My twin cam does just fine. The Mil-8s look kinda funny.
Personally, I had no issues with the Evo engines nor the TwinCam for that matter.

Miss the Timken bearing lower end - bulletproof it was.

I work as a tool maker and can tell you stainless is a very hard material not to get chatter on. Im honestly surprised they get stainless slides as smooth as they do.
