I ordered two replacement mag. and follower kits from Kahr and they shipped right away…happy me!
But on Friday I received a text message that I would have to sign for the package, what's with that?!?!?!?
A couple of months ago I ordered a complete spring (plus extractor) kit for a used TP45 that I had purchased, and it came through the mail with no problem and no signature.
Are springs all of a sudden dangerous or what?
By the way I love the TP45! It fits my hand, points naturally, and returns to point of aim (because it fits my hand) after recoil. I love, love, love it!
Soon it will be my EDC.
I've had the TP45 for over 6 months but didn't get the Doctors go ahead to shoot it until recently. I had elbow surgery in January, and began shooting my 22 six weeks after surgery, then at the 9 weeks post op I moved to the nine, and now I'm cleared for anything.
A month after surgery I was able to carry weak side, but it was hard to get much shooting in with that hand because of severe arthritis.
CJB nailed it. Lemme guess......FedEx?
Just went through this song and dance last week. You can get the FedEx app for your phone, or sign up for their Delivery Manager here:
https://www.fedex.com/us/delivery/
One of the options you can select is to print out a "signature" form for deliveries that require an adult signature. Fill it out, sign it, and leave it where the driver can see it.
Beats running after the delivery van when the driver knocks on your door, runs back to the van, and speeds off. Been there...

Ordered a Kahr P9 magazine and recoil spring (two separate purchases) from MidwayUSA and both items arrived via USPS no signature required. What's with the signature requirement?

Why should we have to deal with THAT! It's nuts!?!?! But I can see that you have dealt with that before……BAN FedEX!

Midway will get my business! I've got to let Kahr know that they are alienating owners!

If you send a pistol to Kahr for repair, they use Fedex, and when it's returned, adult signature required. I'm guessing that this the default setting for all the FedEx shipments, and the Joe Smoe doing the shipping of small parts and pieces never thinks to change it.

With the rash of package thefts from mailboxes and front porches lately at least in our area, the signature isn't always a bad thing.
I don't like it cause I usually have to wait since there's never anyone home when they show up.
Many people request signature required and they may have just goofed on yours. I've not heard of them doing that all the time.
Always on guns but not on parts.

Bawanna,
So far we have had no theft of packages. There is no through traffic in our complex…probably one of the safest streets in our neighborhood….so far so good!
Maybe I should sell my guns…NOT!
We are careful not to order anything that requires a signature unless we are home, it's a pain.
I guess I'll email any company before I order.

I guess I was concerned that Ovomit changed the laws again and that ANY gun related items would have to be signed for!
This one is on Kahr. From their website:
SHIPPING POLICIES
A 25% restocking charge will be assessed on all returned parts and accessories.
In an effort to help reduce lost orders, “Delivery Confirmation” or “Signature Required” shipping options will be applied to orders having delivery addresses to apartment buildings and orders that total over $100.00. Additionally, these options can always be requested at any time for any type of shipment. A small fee (not to exceed $4.00) will be applied to the shipping charge for these options.
Absolutely love MidwayUSA - those folks know how to treat their customers right.

Ed,
I rarely order anything over $100, and part of the problem is I didn't read the shipping policies in the last couple of years.
Wasn't trying to be disrespectful in any way. By saying it was on Kahr, I meant to say it's Kahr's choice to ship this way.
I totally agree that it's really annoying and inconvenient - at least for me. They should give you the option for waiving this requirement if you accept the responsibility for lost shipments, or just add the option for purchasing shipping insurance. USPS Priority Mail would be a better choice for carriers (cheap insurance), and even UPS (aka OOOPS) has free insurance for up to $100. Choices would be nice....

The downside (for some) is that Signature Required can be a major inconvenience. The upside is when you send a K9 Elite 03 slide in for installation of night sights ($40), as I did last week, and they send the slide back Fedex Second Day, Signature Required, and don't charge for the return shipping -- as in FREE. I call that shockingly good customer service.
