Long story short, I have owned a blunt nosed PM9 that I carried religiously IWB for 3 years. This past May I decided I wanted an LCP for summer pocket carry. I bought one, but the caveat was that my PM9 would become my better half's. No big deal right? I figured why not, it's not like I'm completely parting with it. Fast forward to this Fall.... With the cooler weather here, heavier clothes, etc etc... I found myself wanting another 9mm for IWB carry. I asked for my old faithful PM9 back. It's not happening. So I did some research, considered options. Knew in my heart that a PM9 was the gun I wanted and instead I bought a.... Shield. I took it to the range, put some rounds through it and don't get me wrong, it's a great gun. But in hand, and wearing IWB it just doesn't feel as good as a PM9. And yes, the Shield is small...ish. It's not the size of a PM9. Nor as light. Nor as concealable (so it would seem to me anyways.)
I've only owned it since Sunday. I splurged and bought the night sight model even. Yet here I am, 3 days later, drooling over my old PM9 that now sights on the nightstand on the OTHER side of the bed, wishing it now had a twin.
Am I crazy? I'm seriously considering trading the Shield this weekend for a used PM9. My LGS has several used to choose from with both the blunt slide and beveled. (I myself am a sucker for the blunt look) and one blunt with night sights in decent condition for $495. $5 less than I paid for the NEW Shield. I know trading the Shield I'll take a hit. Maybe being the night sight model will help.
What's a guy to do....

Sounds like you know what you WANT to do and that's nearly always the right thing to do.
You'll definitely take a beating on the Shield but you'll end up with what you really want.
Course being the Shield is so new they might not hit you too hard.
Since your PM9 is sitting on the night stand on your better half's side, what does the better half think of the Shield. Maybe it will strike a cord and you could swap back? Just a thought.
I see no mental disorder with wanting what you have decided best works for you, after a bit of experimentation (aka trial and mistake).
There is a price to education. You'll not soon lose that experience and knowledge though.
I had a blunt PM9, that I got used from a forum member. It got stolen. First, called the cops. Second, called Bud's, "send me another!". It arrived before the police report was ready.
BTW, the bad guy is in New Jersey, sitting in prison right now, for other crimes.
I prefer the PM45, but when I have to go very light, the PM9 is there, and I have full faith in its performance.
You're on the right track! Just go for it!

I will say, I have owned the Shield, Nano, Glock 43, LC9s and I think every thing else. I acquired a pair of bullnose PM9s and never looked back. Best pistol out there!

I didn't warm up to my Shield right away. Then it really grew on me. I ended up liking it a lot. Then I bought an MK9 and like it just as much. I switch back-and-forth I don't think I prefer one over the other. Give the Shield time. You could possibly trade guns with your honey from time to time. That way you can have both.

Having two PM9's…….Hmmmmmmm. Better keep them separated.
A number of people on this forum have reported that if they have two guns they really like something strange happens. Pretty soon there with be a third, then a fourth, they must be reproducing, and sometimes mutating because they don't always look like there parents.

AIRret, you are correct. For some reason the 2 PMs have been joined buy a TP9 and CW9, plus a multitude of magazines. I think I am addicted

Well, the Shield is gone. Went to trade it Friday night, and as I suspected I took a beating on it. To make matters worse, the PM9 I was interested in that they had listed online (without pics) was in rough shape. Worse than I was hoping for. They had a few other Pm9's, but were all models with the external safety, LCI, or were in one way or another engraved or bedazzled (not my cup of tea.) I was a pretty sad dude for a while. Then wait! Off to the far side of the case, away from all of the other Kahrs with stainless slides was.... could it be? A blackened slide PM9! My heart raced as I waited for the salesman to hand it to me. As he removed it from the case, and did a safety check I noticed another thing. It had night sights! He handed me the gun, and then I knew.... It was love at first sight! The little black sheep of Pm9's needed a good home!
It was graded at 98% condition. The night sights are still bright. Serial number begins with IC, whereas my old PM9 was an IB. Beveled slide, but hey it looks pretty good with the black diamond finish. Best of all, it was the same price as the beat up stainless one I had seen online ($495)
The gun came home with me, along with a couple of boxes of range ammo. Hoping to put it through the paces today.
So far I'm happy with the way things turned out. Range report and pics to follow!
Now the quest for a fun .22 plinker begins!

For a plinker, look into the new Ruger MKIV. I think they finally fixed everything, but alas, no CA sales.

I like my Bersa Thunder .22 plinker. It had a couple of teething pains but once I took care of those it's been a lot of fun. It's accurate and feels a lot like my CM9 in my hand.

A bit of patience grasshopper, and you wouldn't have needed to take a bath on your Shield...........................................
