For Sale: My Mag-na-ported P40 with XS Big Dot sights. The rear sight has a Tritium bar. Capacity is 6+1 or 7+1 rounds. This pistol KP4043 was LNIB 9/11, born ~June 2004.
I was able to get a Black/DLC one and need to sell this one.
Included are the box, manual, lock, and two mags... one 6-rounder and one 7-rounder with extended grip.
I had worked on the original extractor a bit, so I put a new extractor, both pins and the spring in the pistol. I just put a new recoil spring in, too, and test fired the pistol at the range... no problems! The pistol has the 5-lb Wolf striker spring installed and the original factory spring is included.
The Mag-na-porting runs $145 plus shipping there and back, and the XS Big Dots were close to $120, I believe.
The pistol is in excellent shape and shoots well. The porting is most visible in videos and still shots from the video, otherwise you might not notice it. The duration of the flash is very short and doesn't seem to hurt night vision, but I haven't tried rapid firing it in the dark. :)
My Wheeler Engineering Digital Trigger Scale show an average trigger pull of 5 lbs 3 oz, averaging 11 pulls.
Extra NEW magazines are available for $25 each with the sale of the pistol. These came with my new P40 and I already had about 14 or so mags. I like 10 or more per pistol. There are two 6-rounders and one 7-rounder with the extended grip.
For full disclosure, the front Big Dot sight was modified to fit the dovetail slot. It fit a bit loosely in this pistol, so I added some Permatex Red Thread Lock. The sight is not going to move without a bit of work, so it won't fall out!
The rear sight fits loosely by design and has two set screws. I broke a tiny hex bit in the right one, but the left works and I put the red thread lock in the dovetail with that as well. The sights seem to be right on and are bright... 2013 models with a half-life until 50% brightness of 12 years. Some I have are older than 11 or 12 years and still are bright.
I have lots of pictures.
The brightness of the flash is dependent on the ammo. Some is really bright with or without porting! Others are low flash as the last picture is with Winchester PDX1 165-grain JHP.
I'm asking $500 shipped from my FFL to yours. I can take credit cards, too. No markup for Kahrtalk members.
