Saw this at a local dealers today. Checked it out, looks to be in great condition for an oldy. Its stainless 5 inch with smooth wood grips. 300 bucks. I know a lot of parts arent gonna work with normal 1911's if i end up needing one. But for 300 i might just jump. Any thoughts on this or anyone who has experience with Llama 1911's? Here she is.

I have no experience but it looks good to me.

I think Greg has had or has a LLama which I really liked. Don't seem like you can hardly go wrong for 300 but do some homework.
Don't trust me.

I have seen a lot of them up here for sale.....................usually for less money, and not in as good a condition. I always thought that they were cheap for a reason...................

They used to be imported by Stoeger along with a multitude of other foreign made guns. I suppose they're still being made but haven't heard much about them in years. If they won't interchange with 1911 parts, I wouldn't buy one. YMMV

I don't have much experience with center fire Llamas, but I don't think they made any in stainless steel. So my guess is that the one in scotty_MK9's photo has satin chrome plating.

Here's some discussion on what 1911 parts will interchange: http://forum.m1911.org/showthread.php?7552-Llama-amp-Firestorm-1911-Parts-Interchange
Numrich usually has some parts on hand for them : https://www.gunpartscorp.com/Manufacturers/Llama-33364.htm
Eagle Imports still offers some LLAMA pistols, so you might find some support from them as well: https://eagleimportsinc.com/llama/firearms/

That IX-A looks to be in good shape, but I'd probably be more inclined to look at recently manufactured offerings from Auto Ordnance, Rock Island, Citadel, American Tactical, Regent, Girsan, Metro Arms, etc.
