I brought my new CM9 to the range today for break-in. I shot 100 rounds of Winchester white box 115gr. RN without a single malfunction. I also fired 25 rounds of Hornady Critical Defense with similar results. I really like this little pistol!

The trigger took very little getting used to and despite my large hands, the pistol pointed well and held on target very well during trigger pull and follow up shots. I only experienced one incidence of not releasing the trigger far enough to reset between shots, and that was early on.

I used a N82 Tactical Professional Series IWB holster and had absolutely no problem with the retention feature causing any problem with my draw. I like this holster a lot, as well as the DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster I have for the CM9.

My only minor complaint with the pistol is the magazine release. A couple of times, I had to struggle to depress it far enough to release the mag. I don't know if that will improve as the pistol gets more broken in, or if I'll try to make some adjustment/modification to improve the function.

If you're thinking of picking up one of these little gems, my advice is, "Go for it!"

Bob

I just came back myself with another 50 rounds through my CM9. So that makes 450 rounds total so far. Just as before, not one malfunction. As for the mag release, make sure your hand is clear of the magazine because after I read some complaints by others of the mag release I tested mine and the only issue was me. The way my hand was positioned, the mag would hit my hand when releasing causing it to stop. When I make sure my hand is not the problem, I had absolutely no issues with this gun. I am very happy with my CM9.

The CM9 is my edc pocket carry with DeSantis holster. When on the belt I use a PJ kydex.
Looked at the N82 for my 40 Shield but was not sure if I was "coordinated" enough for the retention feature. Sure enough is comfortable next to skin.

It's definitely not my hand on the bottom of the mag. When I took the pistol out of the box, new, I thought the mag was stuck in it as I couldn't get it to release. I had to use my thumbnail to push the release button in far enough to release it. After a while it got a little better, but I still can't release it as easily as I'd like to.

I was worried about trying the N82 Professional after reading a lot of complaints about the retention feature but I don't have any trouble with it. It is my first IWB holster, so I made sure the way I learned to draw the pistol would release it every time. I simply put my thumb between the back of the slide and the holster as I grab the grip, and it comes out smoothly and easily every draw.

I took mine out for the second time and ran about 70 rounds of Winchester white box through it. I too love this gun, as well as my CW45. I also have a little trouble with the mag release at times. I got a 7 round mag with the base extension and that releases just fine. After I clean my gun I wipe the mag down with a silicone cloth and that seems to help.
