"My HOA and Mimi's restaurant got together in Phoenix to buy breakfast for all who served or are currently serving. That is a gesture I never experienced while living in the great socialist State of California. Some States remember those who served and those who are currently serving. My thanks and gratitude to you all for keeping us safe." Marshal Kane, USAF, 1955-1958

My son just recently returned from Baghdad got a few days off and went to Big Lake? He said at the restaurant or bar they were in they were plied with free drinks and food all night long!
They were not in uniform, apparently Marines seldom are when off base but word must have got out. He said he was kind of in awe of it all and very appreciative.
That's the way it should be always everyday, not just on veterans day.

I think if you served and bullets were flying overhead, you should pay less taxes for the rest of your life.

I served, two tours. I am not retired or active. I am forgotten.
Most of the folks start off just like getsome, active and retired. What about us humps that just did our time and got out, we don't count?
I'm just using getsome as an example, he/she is typical, nothing personal. There are a LOT of veterans out there that did just what I did, their duty. And then they got out. Let's not forget them either.

I am sure Getsome was referring to ALL that served whether Enlisted or Drafted, career soldier or did their time and moved on with their lives. You are NOT forgotten Kenemoore, Welcome Home!

No….definitely not forgotten. My Hubby was drafted, and was infantry in Vietnam. He's definitely not forgotten…not by friends, family and not by those he served with. I'm retired AF and I value his service even more than mine!!!
