As I'm really liking the MK9 I recently aquired, I decided to pick up a holster for it and wanting something fast, I went with a pancake style holster from Winthrop Holsters.
The pancake has slots for 1.5" and under width belts.

Their website says they "use 7 to 8 oz. premium Hermann Oak vegetable tanned cowhide leather, wet molded to fit the gun."
The fit is very good.

The leather is about as thick as that used on this Aker thumb snap holster that my CW9 rides in:

However, it's not quite as thick (real close by feel) as the leather used in the Mitch Rosen holster I have for my CW45 (bottom):

This is not my first rodeo with a Winthrop holster. I have one for my XD-S and it's made from the same thickness leather as the one for the MK9. The XD-S holster has served me well, but the XD-S now rides in a TT leather holster that was gifted to me. That's no real slight to the Winthrop holster. They both work just fine, but the TT is a nicer, but more costly, holster....and it was a gift.

One last photo, here's the MK9 in the Winthrop with my P380 in a Hays holster:

BTW, the light colored area that shows up in some photos of the Winthrop holster (like the one above, near the muzzle) is just some dust/dirt/sand.
Regards,
Greg

It looks like a very good holster.
I've been pleased with the two Winthrop holsters I have...especially so when when I consider the performance I've had from the first one (expect the same from the new one) vs it's cost.
I see they have a 20% off store wide sale going on now, so that MK9 holster in just a touch over $31 right now.
Regards,
Greg

Good, a MK9 is not a pocket pistol.

DANG! That's better than his local gun show price. I have two of that very holster right now: 1 for a PM9 and another for a SW J-frame. Guess I might as well order one for the P40 too.

This is a bang-for-your-buck, no-brainer OWB IMHO. Thanks Greg!

I went ahead and ordered one for the P40. Thanks for the reminder. It arrived yesterday already. They come very stiff but break in nicely. Best thing about them is they cinch up to your waistline real snug. I can OWB under an untucked tee no problem. And they don't move around at all. You really do forget it's there. Great holster IMHO.

I have a winthrop for my sig p938 and they are nice holsters. Extremely tight fit but the quality is pretty good. Mine did not have an adequate sight channel but the sight wore it's own channel soon enough.

I use this for my MK9 inside of my Maxpedition gym bag. It is secure, available, and economical. I also have magazine carriers in the bag.

Not pretty but superbly efficient, cost effective, and quietly out of sight. The liberals in Austin have no clue that I am carrying with this. It makes sense in urban areas.

I don't even know what to do with a gym bag. LOL

I'm older than most here and workout 4 times a week. It works for me. My health is better, I'm stronger, lost weight, less back pain, and generally feel better.
