As I'm really liking the MK9 I recently aquired, I decided to pick up a holster for it and wanting something fast, I went with a pancake style holster from Winthrop Holsters.
The pancake has slots for 1.5" and under width belts.

Their website says they "use 7 to 8 oz. premium Hermann Oak vegetable tanned cowhide leather, wet molded to fit the gun."
The fit is very good.

The leather is about as thick as that used on this Aker thumb snap holster that my CW9 rides in:

However, it's not quite as thick (real close by feel) as the leather used in the Mitch Rosen holster I have for my CW45 (bottom):

This is not my first rodeo with a Winthrop holster. I have one for my XD-S and it's made from the same thickness leather as the one for the MK9. The XD-S holster has served me well, but the XD-S now rides in a TT leather holster that was gifted to me. That's no real slight to the Winthrop holster. They both work just fine, but the TT is a nicer, but more costly, holster....and it was a gift.

One last photo, here's the MK9 in the Winthrop with my P380 in a Hays holster:

BTW, the light colored area that shows up in some photos of the Winthrop holster (like the one above, near the muzzle) is just some dust/dirt/sand.
Regards,
Greg
