View Full Version : P380 Dropping Mags?

I purchased a P380 a few years ago. Probably have about 1000 rounds thru. Was a little fussy on ammo, but once I limited use to Remington MC...no issues. One annoyance: on occasion I've found the mag "drops out". Not fully, like hitting the ground, just comes loose so the next round can't feed. I once read a post from a guy who bought a P380 for his wife but sold it because she "kept bumping the mag release with her grip". I don't think I'm doing this but haven't really tried different grips. I also remember reading posts from other P380 owners with a similar issue. When I slowly depress the mag release, it really has a good distance to travel before releasing so I'm not sure it could release "on its own". Question: is this a real issue with the pistol or mags...or am I probably bumping the mag release? Anyone heard of this? Other than this, really love this little guy!!!!

The mag release can vary. On my Wife's P380, you could forget mag changes in a self defense scenario. Her mag release was stiff and had to be pushed in nearly beyond flush to get the mag out. On my CW380, the mag falls as it should. It is likely the mag release or spring.
