Like most of you I have a list of guns that are sort of lifetime goals. Stuff I want to own before I kick off. Some of them are too expensive or rare to be realistic. I work on it though, and have had a handful of successes. I knocked off one at the end of 2016 with the arrival of a new tax stamp: the AKS74U, or "Krinkov" as most Americans call it. Here is a picture. It started as an Arsenal SLR-104UR. My smith did the cut and crown after the stamp showed. It has very little recoil, and is a lot of fun to shoot. Hopefully when the weather warms up I can get some serious range time with it. Now if someone would just import affordable Dragunovs I could knock that one off my list too...

Nice, I want one too.

I was fortunate enough to catch the SLR a while back when they were not selling that well at a good price. Had to sell a couple other guns to cover it, but well worth it.

Very nice indeed!
All I can afford is a cheap imitation (SLR-106U 5.56 pistol with a brace and fake booster)
But at least I call it a Suchka  http://i1361.photobucket.com/albums/r678/barthunderwood/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-11/IMG_20161105_124844_zpsvgngitjj.jpg

One reason I don't have one, is there are so many variations etc. Those both look very similar to me.

Maybe someday I'll just go for it and hope for the best.

Bawanna,
They are both Bulgarian Arsenal Short Gas System AK74s.
In many ways very similar.

Major Differences?
1) Actual stock legal SBR vs pistol with a brace
2) 8.5" barrel with a real booster vs 10.5" barrel with a fake booster.
3) 5.45x39 vs 5.56x45 NATO

I might be missing something - LOL
John can correct me...

Mine is 100% Bulgarian (other than the brace) no 922r :p

About the only thing unfulfilled on my bucket list is Stana Katic.

I'm saving up to buy the bucket, I'll have to work on the list later I guess.

You know where I'll be googling Stana Katic? to see what the heck it is.

Congrats on the new rifle John! I like what you've done with it :)
I also like what you've done with your "pistol" Barth

....
I hear ya about saving up to buy the bucket, I just traded something in to make my latest firearm acquisition.

As you are also a brother disciple of .45ACP, I have a confession to make: if I had the bucket or a list, there would be a 9mm pistol on it :crazy:
I'd love to have a SIG P210 Super Target. It's one of them pistols that sings to me.
I just can't decide which flavor:

I like the stainless myself but here's a good plan, well not sure it's good but it is a plan.

Get both, send me one and every 6 months we'll swap. That way you get the best of both.

Looks sharp, it sings to me too.

Somebody help me get back in the chair will ya? I just looked for one of them Sigs. Sweet Mary and Joseph, I'll never save up for the bucket making payments on one of those.

Still be nice to have, course so would a new van.......wait! I think there might be a bucket in the back of the van......we can check off the bucket!!!

Oh no, another slide inside the frame gun and I've been eyeballing CZ's lately. I bet its a sweet shooter. Based on Bawanna's response I'm not even going to see how much one cost.

The holy grail of Sig's.....................beautiful thing............unfortunately like other Sig's, too large a grip for my hands.

Bawanna
01-05-2017, 02:46 PM
I generally don't get along well with other Sigs for the grip as you mention but this one looks pretty durn ergonomic to me.
Never laid eyes on one so I got no first hand input.

I have had the opportunity to fondle one. A guy that I traded a 220 to, was the proud owner of one, amongst other beautiful handguns. The P210 is a piece of art. Beautiful firearm. Beautiful grips. Smooth operator. Once again, just doesn't fit my paw. I have an issue with grips...........smaller hands, long fingers. Shoulda played the piani..............I think an average price for one currently, is about $8000, which surprised me........my bucket list gun starts at about $5000, and I thought that was a bit much for my pocket.

I've got a short bucket list myself.
But these two are likely to not get checked off...

Those Sigs are gorgeous! I have never had the chance to shoot a 210. Maybe it will come along someday. At this point I think my list is done for everything I am realistically able to get except maybe a Galil. I am keeping an eye on the new Ace series. I always wanted a Bren 10 but don't really want to shell out funds for an original given their issues. Seems like the last project to resurrect the gun has failed. Maybe President Trump will get some friendly with Putin that we get new Dragunovs flooding in. Probably delivered by Putin himself riding a bear.

Owning a Wilson someday before the river crossing is still on my list. The one pictured would be perfect. There are a bunch of nice model Wilson's and any of them would be fine. Officer here has one of the lower end models and even it just leaked quality all over the place, just holding it. I never shot it but he let me hold it a couple times. (didn't even charge me).

Bucket of KFC "Original" would be nice. Always loved that stuff.

Beautiful gun, John.

I'm still traveling and visiting since Tuesday before Christmas with another week or so to go. I'm in Mesa, AZ, for a few days and have been thinking about a bucket list item... shooting an MP5 at Caswell's Range here... $99.95. Wifey is helping her sister get ready for her daughter's wedding tomorrow and I'm free for a few hours. I'm kind of dragging my feet, though. It does include a free T-shirt!

Unfortunately nobody tried bringing in a sporterized version. I keep hoping MOLOT or some other venture would give it a go. Maybe when President Trump lifts the import band it could be revisited. There is no good reason it could not be done along the lines of the Saiga/Vepr imports.
