Ok, I bought an early brace that didn't fold.
And argued mightily that I had no use for a folding one.
But I'm willing to admit when I'm wrong.
After much thought I went ahead and got the new folding version.
And I must say I like it http://www.hkpro.com/forum/smilies/biggrin.gif

An "Atta boy" for anyone willing to try something different! Maybe I should give myself an "Atta boy" too. I once said I would NEVER buy one of them new fangled "plastic" guns.

I did the same thing with my Scorpion. I ate a bit of money in the process as I had already bought the non-folding hardware, but am happy with the outcome. Folded it fits in a backpack nicely along with mags. Makes a good travel kit. I may revisit some other guns along those lines. I have an SLR-106U and it has a fixed brace. I am thinking of having my smith drill/tap the back plate for ACE hinges and adding a folding brace. Then if I ever SBR it I can just swap that out.

By the way, what make/model MP5 is that? I tried a POF when they first came out but it did not run well. I still have the itch for something along those lines.

It's a factory German HK SP5K 9mm semiautomatic pistol.

I bought number 515 of the first 1000.
Prepaid to have one of the first to hit U.S. soil (first shipment I understand).
Paid $2,500 for it at that time.
If you hunt around they are going for around $2,100/$2,200 ish these days.

100% new production HK roller-delayed blowback sweetness.
BTW mine runs like butter and is bombproof :D
