I like that they sought a more powerful round than the 9mm and then chose the 9mm. Significant improvement?

They probably aren't aware or didn't consider that they probably have billions or 9mm rounds in warehouses all over the world. For that reason and probably only that reason the 9 makes sense.

As it's modular: perhaps big boys, who need bigger toys, will be able to get them.

Trillions of rounds of 9mm out there!

Imagine it will drive the armorers insane setting them up for individual taste.

Course they might just order a few million of each configuration so they have all the options, just grab and go.

I wonder how many years it will take to fulfill the contract. That's a lot of guns. It took Beretta about seven years to deliver all of the 460, 000 units of the first order. Sig makes a good gun and this one should serve well, as did the venerable and solid M9.

As did the venerable and much superior Colt 1911.

9mm is the worlds caliber and 45ACP is an American holdout. I bet the P320 is about to get hard to find as SIG has NOT substantially expanded production capacity and with a "G" contract they come first. thankfully I already have four with the fifth one days away from my hands. I know of NO knowledgable shooter who will miss the M9 as it was almost universally hated and was a political choice and not one that was function based.

They made a good choice with the 320. We are seeing agencies also pick this platform for LE. Glock may have a large reduction price reduction very soon.

Glock has had a hell of a good run. Many of course still love them and will stick with them but many agencies who issued Glocks are now going other directions. Some of the other companies have caught up.

The M&P is pretty popular around here of late.

I went to a Glock Armorer Class on Thursday, so I can check that off the list. I hate class's but the brass sleeps better with the certificate that says your official. Glad it's over.
