I love my CW380 so buying a new CM9 seemed only natural.
It had a lot of problems.
1. First, after unboxing my new CM9, I dry fired it and was a little surprised to hear the trigger squeeze emits an audible flexing spring sound. (Here is an 8-second video showing the sound https://youtu.be/DeAp6a6f6zU) The trigger squeeze itself feels almost as smooth as my CW380 but the CM9 has a tad of slop at the beginning. The gun itself appeared pristine and well lubed from the factory so I decided to go ahead and begin my range session.
2. Using the NIB magazine, I ran a total of 30 rounds through five mags and I experienced a fail to feed malfunction on the 2nd round of the magazine four times. The slide returned to battery or 99% of battery on an empty chamber each of those times. And yes, I am initially loading the CM9 by locking the slide to the rear, inserting the mag, and using the slide release.
3. The slide failed to lock open in an empty mag four of the five times.
The ammo used was Fiocchi 115gr FMJ which works just fine in my Sig P290 and two Glock 9mms.
4. Last but not least, after taking it home and disassembling for the first time, before cleaning it, I was astonished to see what appears to be flaking or peeling or manufacturing deflects inside the first 1/4 inch of the barrel.

My serial number is in the IT26** range. So... thoughts?

Send it to Kahr for service. Took two trips plus on my part adjustment of the slide stop spring and Maggots spring and follower to fix my CW380. Oddly it had the same issues as your CM9 except the barrel. Ironically my CM9 has been perfection. Both models are much the same design, experience similar issues and fixes. For the spring squeak I found that repeated treatments of the spring and connecting rod with Balistol plus several hundred rounds fixed it.

sorry to hear that and that barrel is definatley bad, mine would have already been in a box on its way back to Kahr
I Just bought one Saturday...IT serial number, ran flawless. However, the rifling in my barrel looks different than your picture, maybe its the camera or focus on the camera, but the rifling is 1-10. The photo seems to show over 10 twists in it.
Barrel: 3.0", conventional rifling; 1 - 10 right-hand twist
Forgot to add, my trigger had some creak in it after the range. I put a drop of oil on the trigger spring - fixed.

Hello:
1. There is probably a burr on the trigger bar. The retaining spring is catching on that burr. It will likely smooth out over time or you can remove the side plate and sand it off. Squirting a little lube there doesn't hurt. Use caution as the side plate screw goes into plastic and it's easy to strip the frame threads.
2. Try a different brand ammo. Kahr tolerances can be too tight for Fiocchi. I experienced this with a CM45 and it cleared up during the break-in.
3. Two common causes: grip and adjusting the slide stop spring screw. First = make sure your grip is sound. Have a different shooter try it and see if it still happens. Try it yourself wearing a glove and see if it still happens. You are already shooting a .380 with no problems so it may be number two. >>> Second = here's a video explaining the screw. http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=kahr+slide+stop+screw&qpvt=kahr+slide+stop+screw&view=detail&mid=6A4AEFFA33EFBB7FA4C36A4AEFFA33EFBB7FA4C3&FORM=VRDGAR Again caution = the screw goes into the plastic frame.
4. Send your barrel pics to Kahr. That's the nickel plating flaking off. You could probably keep shooting without any ill effects but Kahr will likely replace your barrel.
Hope that helps.

That plating issue is bad. Must have been some oil or something on the barrel surface before plating. Hopefully, they should, swap that out for you.

I had some issues with Fiocchi ammo, even though it seems a bit more stout than other 115 gr. ammo. It also seems very dirty compared to other 115 gr. ammo I've used. Had some FTF's and FTE's with the Fiocchi.
Can't help with the barrel. Contact Kahr - if you send them those pictures, they should send you a new barrel.
As for the trigger bar issue, this video covers the fix pretty well. It's super easy to do - had to do this to mine, and it worked like a charm. I removed the trigger bar spring before I sanded the bar for better access. It comes out easy, and goes back easy as well.

I just had to joined today so I could post my story to and get the word out that there is a big problem with the cm9 barrel. I just got my CM9 today and went down to the range and was surprised how bad the accuracy on this gun was. I fired 40 rounds through it and just figured it needed the 200 round brake in. during inspection as I was cleaning it I found my barrel had a raised bur accost the top of one of the rifling lands that was shaving the bullets as the went down the barrel and had really deep pitting in the barrel towards the end . in the picture you will see the big raised burr and then past that you can see the deep pitting. Shocked that this is the quality you get from Kahr. They better not expect me to pay any shipping to have there mistake fixed ! Still trying to figure out how to attach a picture.

Update from the OP.
Kahr quickly repaired my gun under warranty. New barrel, slidestop lever, and polished trigger.
1. The barrel is normal now.
2. The slidestop locked the action open on 10 emptied mags in a row, so I am happy now.
3. The trigger polish did nit eliminate the squeak.
Problems.
1. The gun definitely shoots high and to the left now. Like consisitently one inch groups 2in high and left at 5 yards.
2. The new slidestop lever is a darker shade of gray than the slide and has crude machining marks. Not so obvious in pics but stands out in person.
Oh well. At least the gun seems reliable now. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170508/90dc73e3e9359e61572487c2426d5559.jpg

All the problems you listed are fixable if you have the right tools - but you shouldn't have to do it.
Wonder if the guy that replaced your slide stop (with a dinged one) would accept a ding on his new vehicle when delivered?

All I can say is, with a bit better QC, they could be saving tons of money and time. Who are the one's responsible for QC? Maybe some of us old folks should move there and get a part time job inspecting firearms. It's not rocket science. I can't believe that an intelligent business person would allow this to continue.....................wasted time and money, and angry customers, which can't be good for anyone............................................

Actually, modern manufacturing will save money sending them all out, and handling any issues after the sale. That is in no way exclusive to firearms manufacturers. I don't like it, but that's the way it is.

Lousy QA and manufacturing at Kahr plain and simple. Some people need their heads on a platter.
I bought a K9 in 1996 and the original extractor broke not long after. The replacement they sent me was (and still is!) a different color than the slide. I have no idea what drugs they're on over there.
I think the experience relayed by the OP is inexcusable.
After all the things I've been reading, and my own experience, I'm seriously wondering if I need to dump my PM9s and get Glocks instead.

I bought my CM9 4 years ago. It has been 100% for over 2000 rounds. Still looks new. It makes me wonder if over that period of time they have let their QC lapse as has so many other companies have. I did have to replace the recoil spring at 1200 rounds but fully expected too. Let's hope your problems are just a fluke. Glad they took care of you but their is no excuse for bad QC.

Believe it....................one person at $8.00 an hour, looking at every firearm that goes by, for say 30 seconds each, would save them time and money answering phone calls, doing repairs, issuing call tags, etc. Again, it's not rocket science.

It probably works for them because a lot of us would rather fix them our selves instead of sending them in.
