I ordered a PM45 from Impact Guns late Saturday evening. I picked it up at my LGS yesterday. I must say that I was impressed. I hadn't had an opportunity to handle one before I ordered it. I have owned several Kahrs over the years and I have always loved my Kahrs.

My PM45, serial number: SV71xx, was manufactured in August 2013. Prior to range time I cleaned and lubed the pistol.

I fired 100 rounds of 230 gr. Federal American Eagle ammunition. I experienced zero failures with the pistol's operation.

My brother observed me while firing the first 2 magazines. I was absolutely terrible at 7 yards. I was striking the target 8" below my point of aim. Yikes! My brother fired the gun placing the first 4 shots in the bullseye. I was so happy because I knew my PM45 was not the issue. My brother carries a PM9 and is familiar with the bar-dot sights. After a few more magazines I began pounding the bullseye. I love this little gun and oh yeah shooting 100 rounds through it will slap you around a little.

I did notice the primer strikes. Any ideas?

That's a normal Kahr primer strike. I call it primer smear. Things are happening so fast the case is drug across the striker before it ejects, hence the smear. Don't hurt nothing, still reloadable. No worries at all.

I thought the recoil spring on the PM45 was contained on the end with a little nut. Now I gotta check mine and see if I'm losing my mind.

Thanks Bawanna. I will not worry about the primer strikes anymore. There actually appears to be a nut on the small captive spring. You only see it when the spring is compressed then it's at the front of the slide.
