A Kimber K6S is in the house. I waited until I could purchase one with factory lasergrips and finally picked it up yesterday.
The gun is made to very tight tolerances and the fit and finish is very similar to (for you old timers) a Seecamp. I always have had a fondness for S&W Performance Center guns and the Kimber out of the box is like one of those that has been returned to the S&W factory for refinement a couple of times. In other words, it has no flaws at all. While examining it in the store I gave the ejectior rod a spin. The cylinder kept turning like a racing bicycle wheel which is something none of my Smiths or Rugers will ever do. Everything was centered and well designed. Greg, the sight channel looks like you designed it. Square and very deep making the three dot sights point like a target pistol. I have one IWB J-frame holster that works, but the trigger guard is more squared off than the Smiths so prepare to need another holster.
Took it to the range today and after finding my optimal trigger finger placement (which oddly was more center pad as opposed to first joint) the rounds were easy to keep in the black of a standard bullseye target at 30'. The backstrap is open so you know you are shooting something other than a .22 but nothing that stopped me from firing a box of 50 158 gr. handloads other than the fact the range was full with people waiting.
Overall, this revolvers quality surpasses anything in my small arsenal and I could only hope for their next model to have a three inch or an exposed hammer with a four inch barrel.
