Does anyone know if there are steel floorplates available for P45 magazines?

The backstory... I have a P45 whose magazines are very difficult to seat... takes a firm whack. It seems the floorplates on the mags are too thick, or the frame is too long. I'd prefer to sand down the floorplate but it would likely make it slightly weaker. I don't want to spill rounds everywhere.

Thanks in advance

There aren't any metal floor plates for the Kahr .45's. I wish that there were.

I'm sure that you can sand the top of the plastic magazine base a bit to make it fit. You would have to take off a LOT to weaken it too much.

I've put metal bases on the bottom of my carry mags for the P9 and P40. They required a 3/32" by 3/4" inner diameter O-ring to prevent pinching.

I would lay a sheet of fine sandpaper on the table and just evenly move the base top against it for a few large circles and then check for fit. Repeat until the magazine will seat easily.

Welcome to the forum, too.

Or you could sand the butt of the gun.
