You bring a gun to a gunfight, there is only going to be one outcome. Fortunately, the right person died.
Lots of people have been in desperate situations. Heck, I was in one myself. Two young kids, lost my job. I didn't rob a Pizza Hut or anywhere else for that matter. I put on my big boy pants and busted my butt to find a job to support my family. Was it easy? No. But it worked.

The employee should get a bonus, a new gun (cops probably took his) and several cases of ammo plus free pizza for life.
My boy didn't deserve this. Yeah right.................

Ms. Hairston doesn't realize this but her nightmare is finally over. Sad. :(
P.S. Sorry to be so insensitive but do you know how hard it is to lose a job at Pizza Hut? All you gotta do to keep it is show up.

“My son was out doing something wrong … I don’t condone his actions, but he didn’t deserve to die,” she said Monday, while crying. “If you decide to rob someone, then you face a judge."
Let me fix that for you: “If you decide to rob someone with a gun, then you face your Maker."
'Nuff said.

Shoot them in the legs? Huh? That's like putting out a fire by spraying water on the smoke.

Any lawyer who takes her case should be disbarred, and the same goes for any judge who wouldn't dismiss such a frivolous lawsuit.

Exactly. It's ok for a bad guy to come in with a gun to rob the place but against company policy for a wise employee to carry a means to possibly save his life and maybe the lives of his coworkers. Don't make no sense to me.
It's not unlike right here at the PD where I work. We specialize in dirt bags and bad guys. We don't get a constant interaction with them in the office puke section but there's also nothing between us and them.
We've all seen video's where the bad guy suddenly fights the officer and grabs his gun etc, I guess us sheep just have to accept it and curl up under our desk.
It's a crazy world we live in and getting crazier as common sense becomes less and less prevalent.

Look up the case of the bank robbers in LA a few years back that had the full auto rifles (AK's I believe) and body armor. First time the police had ever come across like that. I believe most of the cops where still carrying revolvers. The two bad guys had taken many shots to the body (trained to shoot center mass) yet were not going down. Then the police wised up and started shooting for heads and legs. One was killed with a head shot, I believe, and the other was shot multiple times in the legs before he went down but was still alive. He died on the street as he bled out as the police would not allow EMT's to treat him on the spot as they had no clue if he also had hand grenades/explosives/etc.
The miscreant's mother was approached a few days later by a very slimey lawyer about filing a law suit against the LAPD for allowing her blessed son to die on the street like road kill. Unfortunate for this lawyer as the judge threw the case out immediately and admonished the lawyer for convincing the mother there was a case and made the lawyer pay all court costs.
We need less lawyers like this and many more judges like this.
