You have to give this guy some credit for having a pair, but can you spot the main reason he probably stayed cool?

Most of you will see it immediately.

Out of battery. Too big to be my old CW380.

Too bad that the Jimmy John clerk didn't have a gun of his own, he could have eliminated one dumb crook!

That's why you don't ride the slide forward.

Good time for a Storm Warning.

That video made it's way to CNN and, of course, they completely missed the fact the gun was not operational during the robbery. Not surprising. To be fair, Foxnews missed it also. BTW they caught the guy later by KC Police. Would of been funny if he tried shooting at them.

Looking at it I don't believe the cashier noticed the gun was out of battery either. I'm not sure in that situation I would have noticed either. I might have since he pulled the gun out and fiddled around with it. Might have given me time to pick up on it before my life passed before my eyes.

Even if the clerk had a gun, the way he handled this was exactly right imo, especially if you can see the idiot had jammed his own gun. Why risk messing up your life; maybe get hurt, maybe get fired, certainly get entangled in the legal system? For what, to save JimmyJohns lunchtime take? Give him the moron the cash and let him go.

Most people don't know one end of the gun from another, so wouldn't have a clue. People died because they carried unloaded pistols. I don't mind it when it's the bad guys, though.

Exactly this. I agree.
I always figure I'm just a witness unless they act like they are going to hurt or shoot somebody. Then I hang on my cape and get involved.

I don't know about you, but if there would have been a good opportunity/time............................let's just say that when someone sticks a firearm in your face, all bets are off. That isn't jokin around.........................

I guess the crook doesn't carry with 1 in the chamber.......it could have cost him his life!
