Well, the Gen2 isn't going to be what you thought it was. The "NEW" Gen2's will be based upon the "Value Line" of pistols. They ditched the blade-style trigger in favor of the standard Kahr trigger we all are familiar with. The new 9mm's that I played with are based on the TP and CW9's. They have forward serrations on the slide, and have a silver aluminum plate on the grip with the s/n. The ones I looked at had the 3-dot contrast sights on them. I wish my phone hadn't died, or I would have taken some pictures. All in all, a nice looking pistol, and the price point will be (according to the rep) close to the CW9/TP9 price point.
Other "new" things, a 'carbonfiber' colored CW380, and lots of gold bling on the Magnum Research stuff.

I don't see any "value" in forward serrations. Maybe others do. Didn't they put a rail on it, too?
Their trigger is what they do best, probably wise to keep making it that way. Why not a double stack some day?

I forgot, YES, it has a rail.

Charlie,
Thanks for the report!
Here are some photos to go along with it:

As the new frame still has this hole (red arrow), I wonder if they just dumped the trigger blade safety, but are still going with the "improved"http://www.pic4ever.com/images/306.gif trigger discussed here:

So far, I'm not a fan of the "S" series.

No, it's the standard-type Kahr trigger. Just like all the others (other than the "enhanced" trigger on the external safety models, which have a shorter throw).
I pulled both the ST9 and the S9.

Some nice Coco Bolo grip panels instead of that serial number plate on both sides would be really fine.

I still want to see the genuine Gen2, as promised. I think the rail and forward serrations are improvements, but I want the legitimate, Loch Ness Monster/Sasquatch version. I wonder if the new series makes it more or less likely for Kahr to produce the original Gen2 concept. If the S series sells well, it seems easy to extend the brand with the blade trigger, front dovetail sights, etc. Fingers crossed...

I didn't get the impression that the 'original' Gen2 is gonna happen. He (the Kahr Rep) said that they decided to "focus on the Value Line, which has been so successful".

I was just about to ask that same question myself. It defeats the purpose of having a pistol that's as slim and compact as possible when you do that. Weapon lights are for duty pistols, not CCW guns.

Why not? There are rails on my pt111 and xds.45...several times I wished I had at least a small light on one.
Don't want no tool rack on the bottom of my sneaky gun..

Been thinking about dremmeling the rail nubs off my H&K p30sk. They irritate the snot out of me. No purpose on that pistol at all.

This sucks. Too bad and not the pistol to be competitive.

Rails are there for lasers or lights, that simple. As attachments get smaller in size, better in quality and cheaper, many people use them. A great enhancement for older eyes. Holster makers are making more and more holsters to accommodate the attachments. I know I like a laser.
Forward serrations serve a purpose.
Three dot sights are an improvement IMHO.
The Gen 2 S models need other improvements to finish the evolution though.
