I picked up my new CM9 yesterday. I immediately cleaned it, following the break in instructions on Kahrtalk. I have to say I believe the build quality on my pistol leaves something to be desired.

The slide is fine. The frame, however had quite a bit of flash on the rails. So much, in fact, that reassembly was difficult as the back of the frame interferes with the rear of the slide below the slide plate. The rails above the trigger guard were filled with flash. I sanded things down and it's better but kind of disappointed.

And the trigger has---wait for it---grittiness. I am dry firing it as much as I can. I may have to pop the side plate off and do some polishing. And of course, firing it will help.

My CW380 has a better trigger.

This is my fourth Kahr. None of my pistols have the grittiness in the pull, and the lack of attention to detail on frame is concerning. I know the frame will smooth out as I fire it, but I don't think this trigger is going to get better. I have emailed Kahr customer service, and am hoping they will send me a return label so they can make the pistol as it should have been from the factory. I find it unacceptable that the trigger on my CM9 is worse than the trigger on my CW380, which cost considerably less.

Having followed your FB posts on this subject, I'd like to add something you may not be aware of.

There are others that have sent their guns back to Kahr for the exact same issues you're having. Some reported a complete fix, some said it was better but still a bit gritty, and others reported no change.

In other words, Kahr may or may not fix it to YOUR satisfaction. You, however, can easily fix the gritty trigger yourself - and to your satisfaction - in much less time than it'll take you to box it back up and send it back....

Even if you don't succeed in smoothing the trigger out to your satisfaction, you still have the option of sending it back to Kahr. I know what I'd do (and did), but everyone has their own comfort level when it comes to working on firearms. No one should tell you what you have to do, or ridicule your choice. Knowing your options, and balancing the risk/reward result is a wise course to take, IMO.

I just picked up a CW 9 and it had a very gritty rough trigger. It also sounded quite squeaky.
I oiled the trigger bar spring and it went to normal sounding/smooth kahr trigger.

It's not a normal "lube" spot so the typical clean lube will not address this issue.

I sanded my trigger bar and the contact point of the trigger bar return spring with 2500 grit sandpaper and polished the whole thing with Flitz. It's much better now. What an easy way to make a huge difference.

Wow, I must have got lucky. The CM9 I bought not too long ago, has an excellent trigger.
