I will be in a part of the world where I need to be armed but getting a pistol will not be an option this go around so I am going with a neck knife. Can anyone give me recs on a neck knife?

Most appreciated.

There was a program to get these ARK's out for deploying military folks. My son Clint got one. It's quite nice.
They were designed to be worn even in the shower etc. They found that between shower and barracks was a at risk time over in the sand box as they didn't take their weapons with them.

It's very nice, I'd love to get one myself. Always meant to but never got there.

If I was contemplating going someplace I felt the need for a gun and couldn't bring one, a knife would never do. I'd suggest just staying home myself.

It's hard for me to imagine a situation where a neck knife would be better than a pocket knife.
Well except being in the shower like @Bawanna mentioned...or for a pat down.

I always pocket carry (no clip) a American made Kershaw flipper, that's always in my hand when the conditions warrant it.

Neck knives are legal to own but illegal to conceal here. You can only conceal "an ordinary pocketknife.....whose blade is enclosed by the handle when folded". Or closed, not sure which word is used.

I had looked at this one, but thought it too pretty to carry in my work environment.

Giraffe bone for a neck knife was a fun touch...

Here is another that has not sold yet (july 4th 2017)

I love the rare earth magnet retention for the leather sheath.

As long as you are polite and the LE you are dealing with isn't a 3% you should be ok.
At least that's what I'm hoping for.

THANKS guys for the input. After checking your provided links and think about things more and more, as well as checking out some vids of neck knives, I realized I need a full on tactical knife. If I lose it to the local authorities so be it. Just my opinion. Therefore, I will take one of my OTF or a folding tactical. Probably a folder since the OTF is a little too over the top IMHO.

Thanks again everyone.

Definitely not an OTF, you can have a folder a lot of places you can't have an OTF.

Not many places around here I know of where an OTF is legal, not that I'm a big follower of legal and all.

I do reemphasize the idear of just staying home. The mere mention of feeling the need to be armed at all times makes going some place else a no brainer to me.

Seriously, if it's the job, is the job really worth it?

Your ignoring the important part buddy. I'm cancelling your flight, you'll thank me later.

Less of course the scary place is in your own neighborhood. My bad.

If you can take a knife where you are going all well and good.
If not, buy one when you get there and give it away/throw it away before you leave.
That's what I have done...

Man, it must be pretty important to you to go to some place where the police are even going to take away a blade from you, let alone a firearm.

That's what I did on two different "fly in" trips to Commieforma. Gave the nice, but no too expensive knife to one of my wife's relatives at the airport.
Made them both real happy...

The legal issue is when you use it in a deadly manner, but a hammer, fork or screwdriver would be treated the same way...
