Apologies if this has already been posted and my search missed it, but I received a mail notice from Saeilo, Inc at 105 Kahr Avenue, Greeley, PA that the third-party provider (Aptos) for websites www.kahr.com and www.magnumresearch.com experienced an intrusion/data breach via malware placed on the 3rd party servers and gained access to customers' card payment data.

Information revealed includes first/last name, address, email address, phone number and any credit/debit card data and expiry dates used on the aforementioned websites from about February 2016 to December 2016.

Kahr recommends users review banking and CC information and monitor via free credit reports.

Curious if anyone else received such a letter in the mail.

I received the same letter. This type of data breach seems to be commonplace nowadays.

I did receive it. As DavidR stated it's not too uncommon now days. I did however have my credit card number changed for safety's sake. My son went through an identity theft situation. It was not pleasant.

I got it. I don't realy recall ordering anything during that time, but it's possible.

I also got one today, but like JohnR I did not order anything from Kahr during that time. The letter states that "historical" sales data may have been breeched also and that would cover me. I am safe though, as the card numbers I used back then have already been change due to some other nitwit breaching data thru another place I used that card at...

I guess the first crooks screwed over the second crooks for me.

I get email notifications of all charges on my cards.
One card was breached and I had it cancelled with the charges reversed in minutes.

My advice is to be proactive with this crap :Amflag2:

I got a letter several months ago and have changed my credit card. So far I haven't been hurt by it.

I almost posted this yesterday, but I've not been active recently so thought better of it. I got the letter yesterday, but the specific card used at the webstore was fraudulently used last month for the first time ever. Check your statements folks. That was my tip off something was amiss. Card was cancelled and replaced. PITA to change the 5 autopay bills attached to the old card.

I got FOUR separate notices at one time... kind of expensive!

I just got mine also in the mail. Is karh going to do something for us for the inconvenience this has caused us?

I wouldn't count on it. If they do, they would be the first of the companies I have dealt with. The CC company are the ones who have been hurt the worst.

Local brick & motar have gone to chip readers embedded in the CC. I can see a point in the future where consumers will have to use a chip reader that plugs into their smart phone to buy online.

Seems to be the price you pay for using credit cards these days, unless you want to pay by check in advance and wait for it to clear.

What if one isn't qualified to own a smart phone? I had the phone store guy tell me they weren't for everyone when I was phone shopping.

I think maybe he slammed me and made me look stooopid.

Wife says I need one now, due for upgrade. Technology sometimes drives me bonkers. OR maybe I already was?

You're more than "qualified". The phone salesman was the stupid one.

Heck, you can even talk to smart phones to get them to do what you want.

There's something strangely satisfying about talking to something with a female voice and actually have it do what you want.

Upgraded from an iPhone4 last fall to an iPhone5. The clerk said that's all I'd ever need - as if he didn't know I wanted to hack into Putin's secret bank accounts.

Dam thing is smarter than I am. Have only figgered out how to take pictures & surf the 'net. It has a calculator and a weather application where I can see the local Doppler radar, which is pretty handy so I can tell if it's raining on me.
Can make phone calls & text too. Texting is handy to communicate with kids & grandkids - they won't answer a telephone call but will respond to a text ASAP.

I just asked mine if she has nice boobs. She said "I have brains."

Snotty little thing...

My hearing aid doc has one and he asked her what she was wearing, her reply was what makes you think I'm wearing anything at all.............

He grabbed his wife's phone once to make a call and Siri or whatever the voices name is asked him what he was doing on his wife's phone.

Kind of scary to me.

Texting is all I do, I can't hear on a telephone anymore so that part is great. I mostly have it in case the van breaks down or I get in a jam. Been stuck out in the yard a few times.
Course usually when I need it most I don't have the darn thing with me.

So which phone do I need to access Putins bank account anyhow, that sounds pretty good..............

Hillary's of course - she's got him on speed dial. The Donald is too busy trash talk tweeting with his.

I just wish everyone would get on board with him. He agrees with me that we're destroying history by removing all the monuments.

Leave them up, enjoy them, learn from them. Quit whining and get busy on the wall.

I'm not a fan of his, but he is doing the right thing for the most part. I will say that a Tasmanian Devil on bath salts would've been preferable to Hillary.

You dishonor to the Tasmanian Devil friend.
Nothing on this earth should be compared with The Hildabeast except Slick Willy.
IMHO, after all this time, we finally have hope :Amflag2:

Actually, I was placing the mentioned Tasmanian Devil (on bath salts) as being above Hillary, so we are essentially agreeing. Hey, even Slick Willy preferred the "companionship" (rapey or not) of females other than his wife, so at least he's got that going for himself. I hope there are reserved accommodations for the both of them in Leavenworth.

Anyway, to get back on track with Mr. Toad's topic of the data breach at the Kahr website, I'm a bit concerned about applying for the free magazine promotion (just ordered a new CW9).

My wife and I got I-phone 7+ last year. Apple stuff does not seem very intuitive. Auto correct stuff for gun stuff will make you look dumb too.

My biggest concern is the loss of privacy associated with smart phones, especially with aps through the App Store. Tecnology is making privacy a thing of the past.
