Checked out the used gun case this AM and a pristine Hk USPc 40 in stainless steel was calling my name.
You all know I'm a sucker for shiny things from Germany - LOL!

At $499 Thanksgiving just came early - Woo Hoo!

Ordered a new OEM USPc 357 Sig barrel for $162.26 as an accessory
Isn't that nice?

I have a USP 40, but mine is full sized and not SS. My compact USP SS pistol is a 45. The FS USP 40 is too big to carry, but with excellent night sights and a 14 round mag, it's a good HDW.

Nice find. That KI date has, IMHO, the nicer matte finish other than the modern "high shine" stainless. My USPc 9mm stainless has long been one of my favorites. Enjoy.

Some of my HKs.

Cabela's has gotten more than a few times over the years, too. Very nice find.

I once had a USPc in .40 like the OP's, but all black. Aside from the atrocious DA trigger pull it was an excellent firearm, and very manageable with .40 defense loads. I sorta wish I still had it.

Mine's already been converted to Light LEM :D

When I had mine I don't think the LEM trigger was available yet, otherwise I'd have changed it out for sure. Instead I carried mine cocked n' locked just like a 1911.

I'm original USP Compact 45 Stainless was from about the same time.
And you're right, no LEM option.
Got mine with no safety just a decocker Stainless with NS direct from HK.
Couldn't hit the broadside, or any side, of a barn with it.
Didn't know about Hk cover up sight picture (it was my first HK)
Sold it quickly for what I bought it for.
Always regretted that

Got a killer deal on a new release USP 45 Compact Stainless ($699 I think).
Snapped it up, converted to Light LEM and put Heinie Straight Eights on it.
I can shoot it fine set up like that.

Now the LNIB USP Compact 40 Stainless was made before LEM too.
But I knew I could still convert it to LEM with the addition of one new part (New Style Sear Catch - LEM & Standard Models) :biggrin1:
That part and a standard HK LEM conversion kit and you're good to go! :D
Naturally I put my proven Heinie Slant Pro Straight Eights on the USP Compact 40 as well.
It shoots fine.
I've got a passion for 357 Sig.
So I got OEM HK 357 Sig barrel and mags for the gun.
Isn't that nice?

Cabela's normally has really bad prices on guns.
Even the used gun case generally has IMHO stupid NEW prices.
And new guns I can get of the net much cheaper.
But a LNIB USP Compact Stainless 40 for $499?
Are you kidding me?!?!?
The LNIB W. German factory nickel plated Sig P220 45 @ $999 may not have been a deal?
But to me? it absolutely was
I don't know if Cabales just doesn't really know the value of some of these used guns?
Or folks inherit guns from someone's gun safe and flip them to Cabela's for a song.
Cabela's has a basic markup for used guns they bought to sell.
And that's it!
They make money and I get a great deal!
I'll do that seven days a week and twice on sunday :D

I guess the gun gods don't like me much.
I never seem to get a Great Deal. I get decent, but never Great. I did get one Good deal, once many years ago.

Cabelas robs everyone it sells a firearm to. They literally have warehouses full of firearms they take in on trade. They do this because they don't give squat for your firearm on a trade in. Otherwise they wouldn't keep warehouses full of firearms. Very profitable on others weaknesses. In this day of instant gratification, people take crazy low money just to get the firearm of their dreams. Personally, I wouldn't give them a penny for any of their firearms. If you have any amount of patience, your firearm will come along for sale, with a reasonable price attached. This is why Cabelas can sell firearms for ridiculous prices.................because they can.
