View Full Version : Striker Spring in CW380 and CM9
I have a Wolff spring kit with a extra striker spring for a CM9. The spring has 24 turns of the spring. The new spring from Kahr shows 25 turns of the spring for the CW380 as well as the original spring 25 turns.
I measured the outside diameter with my mic and it is the same. The plastic striker plunger is the same diameter and length. The spring fits the CW380 plastic plunger.
Has anyone used a striker spring from a PM9 in a CW380??

Yes there is a thread about the differences.

Thought I'd be helpful but durned if I can find that thread mentioned. I don't really recall it myself.
Sounds like from the description and measurements it should work.

A member was proud that he got Wollfs to put a disclaimer in the spring specs that it's not for the 380. This was after he installed one and the pull weight was different or increased or something. Can't exactly remember it was just more nonsense. Why do I retain this stuff, just clogs the brain.

Here is a thread with some discussion:

i can’t say that it answers any questions, though.

I tried a PM9 striker spring in my P380 and wrote about it in this thread: http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?25541-A-used-P380-the-good-the-bad-the-ugly-and-a-happy-ending
"Another part I ordered was a PM9 striker spring, so I tried it in the P380; shot a quick 30 rounds without a misfire, but the slide would move rearward as I pulled the trigger (heavier striker spring overcoming the recoil spring)"

Greg

Well, I tried putting the PM9 striker spring in the CW380 and it did pull the slide back slightly. I replaced the recoil spring recently so I know the spring is not weak, the slide is still has tension while racking. I would have never have thought that the striker spring could overcome the stronger recoil spring. Thanks for the heads up.
