Hey, 'Bot.
I could tell you of my top-secret shooting spots, but the desert soil is hard and it's difficult to dig a deep grave. But there ARE a couple spots that are openly discussed online, so I suppose it's ok to mention them. First, if you're willing to come down off the hill, is Lytle Creek. I've never been, but understand there can be a lot of shooters out there. The other spot is Hodge Road. I think everyone goes west. That seems weird, because it looks better to the east. I've never been, but people seem to like it there. How about heading east from Apple Valley? It seems closer than Hodge Road.

I went east of AV 1 time. there was a range but I never saw anyone. there are some wide open spots but the County maps show it as no shooting zones. Lytle is 40 ish miles and about 1 hour out from AV. I will need to wait out the fires and weather.
Iron is ok rusty but shootin' iron I feel should not. lol

Thanks for the reply.
