Ya gotta keep things in perspective. The media is no longer the objective news outlet we recall from many, many years ago. At best it is entertainment. At worst it is irresponsible... money and ratings grubbing... and with zero regard for the truth. So pay no regard to what they say. They will just raise your blood pressure.

And for those deadbeats the media chooses to crow about: they are indeed deadbeats. I make no excuses for them. But there should be some statute of limitations to when these claims can be charged. Defending yourself against a 30 year old allegation is just wrong. Bring it up when it happens or waive your right to complain later. These complainants take the benefit of their indescretions then wanna play the victim card years later? You slept with the director. You got the movie role. You accepted the paycheck. I was going to make the flip remark "I wasn't" but I think this question deserves a better answer. During my time as part of the senior power structure within my part of the gov't and gov't contractor community I did not see this kind of behavior. The coming outs of the last few months had left me feeling rather naive. Over the past month I've asked several of my female friends and professional acquaintances about this. To a person, they've told me in their professional lives they've not experienced a problem. Made me feel better good about ourselves.

I too have asked my co workers (all women) most that no one would waste neck muscles to turn and look at a second time if I had ever groped anybody.
I think they would probably enjoy it to be honest. I wouldn't enjoy it.

I've never had to pay for or force myself on anyone. Had to fight a few off now and then but I think that's due to my natural good looks and charming personality as well as my modesty.

I can see the real rape victims being afraid of outing their powerful attackers because of fear of physical harm and/or shame. Too bad they didn't have the opportunity to shoot their attackers at the time.

Then there are those (female and male) who use the "casting couch" willingly to advance their careers. If they complain decades later, that's too bad. They were made the decision to whore themselves out. The "men" who took advantage of these women are low down skunks and deserve all the humiliation they get... even if it is years later.

The perverts who molested the minors, whether in the Church, film industry, athletics, or schools, deserve every bit of scorn and punishment that is forthcoming. The fathers of those innocent victims should be given the opportunity to beat those scumbags to death with a baseball bat. Same for those whose daughters were raped by the high & mighty who think they are above the law & decency.

Then there are the enablers who were aware of these rape/molestation shenanigans, but kept quiet because they didn't want to make waves amongst the power class in their industries. (Meryl Streep, whom I used to respect, Hillary, who actively trash the victims & destroyed them, Joe Paterno & his PSU cohorts who ignored child rape)) They should be blacklisted & ostracized from society.

Pretty much, except #2 can vary case by case - some willingly "sell" themselves to advance, while others are caught unawares and are backed into a corner. Therein can lie the difference between rape & mutual exploitation.

This has happened before. Does anyone remember Tailhook? Changed the military for both good and bad. Got rid of a few bad apples but a number of women accused innocent men. The military finally caught on and started to investigate all charges rather than convict on allegations.

Right now folks are being convicted on allegations.

My wifey teaches todays youth at the college level, and she says the same thing. You have a hard time telling between the boys and the girls these days. Socially inept, helpless, late, and terrible hygiene. The next generation won't have any of these abuse issues. They're not interested in anything but electronics. They won't know if they are groping a man or a woman.
