K40 Back at Worcester - What to expect?

So, the barrel of my K40 is looking pretty beat up. I sent the image to Kahr and they responded with a RMA number.
Now that it's there, are there any guesses as to what their response will be?
Say it's normal wear?
Say I abused the gun and charge $$$$ to repair it?
Grind the burrs down and say it's GTG?
Replace the barrel?
something I haven't thought of?

I expect they'll fix it and send it back to you.

Generally that would result in a new slide and barrel. It is not abuse and there won't be any charge.

Years ago my K40 did that and they made it right.

My first ever dealing with Kahr, so I had no idea what to expect.

Might take a little patience but they'll fix it.

Getting an RMA without begging is usually the first clue of good things happening.

When mine was in it had a blued slide, I called to check status as I thought it was taking awhile. They explained they were waiting for a blued slide.
I mentioned I'd really prefer a stainless slide and how much to swap. No charge and I got it the very next day. So sometimes the delays are waiting for parts.

Nice people e-mailed me that it arrived and was in the queue for service.
So it's looking good.

Wow, that's rather unusual in itself. They haven't done that in the past and many complain that they don't advise when it's shipping back, it just arrives.

My K9 has been there 10 weeks now. Patience is the word of the day.

Message came Monday.
Covert is shipped.
Due in Wednesday.
Believe it or not, but had a dream last night that it came back with the slide Cerakoted sparkly silver!
The wait is almost over!

Arrived this morning.
New barrel fitted.
Test fired and the nice folks sent an extra magazine.

Must have caught it early enough not to need a new slide.

Hoping they've corrected that interference/peening issue.
Cannot imagine they like using up parts.
