I'm about to pop a main vein!!!!....Went last July 5th to get my CCW permit as mine was about to expire....This wasn't the first time and all previous times went pretty easy but not this time, no sir!!!...My drivers license had the wrong birth date and has ever since I first got it back in 1973....Never been an issue before but not with this hard ars so I had to take a day off work and go to the DMV license place along with my Social Security card, Birth certificate, and a hand full of bills to get my new drivers license with the correct birth date on it....So I took another half a day off work to go back to the probate court carry permit department and went through the line again to get my permit and everything seemed to go ok but after more than a month went by I called them to see what's up....Found out they sent it to the wrong address so I asked if they could just resend it to my correct address but noooooooooo I would have to go back to the court house and do the whole process again so after taking another day off I went back for the 3rd time and did the whole trick yet again which was in mid August....Well it still hasn't come in the mail so I called today and was told that they had nothing on file that I had ever applied for a permit....AAAAAAHHHHH.....I hope the 4th time works because I'm out of vacation until next year.....Damn Government and having to jump through flaming hoops to get permission for something the 2nd amendment already gives us the right to do....

Come on up to Missouri. Our state government understands the 2nd Amendment...no CCW permit required. :)

I believe the caveat to that would be if you wanted to travel to a reciprocal state you would need to have your Missouri ccw permit.

If you live in Missouri why would you ever want to travel to another state?
If I ever get back there (not likely at this stage of the game) I ain't leaving again ever.

The only exception to that would be Oklahoma, where all you need is a Missouri drivers license or ID card. I'm not sure what the process is now, but a Missouri CCW permit used to require 8-hours of approved training and a fee to the issuing county sheriff. Where I live, that fee was $50. Missouri is a "shall-issue" state, so the process was quick and easy.

Probably cooler up there in the summer, but I couldn't stand to live in the Broncos' state. They're the only team in the NFL that cheats more than the Raiders and Steelers. :p

Yup, the Steelers usually bring their own ref's. As evidenced when they robbed our Seahawks of the Superbowl a few years back.

Yep...and the Chiefs have been victimized by their refs as well.

The only Broncos I watch anymore are the ones in a rodeo. Quit watching the NFL last year and should have quit much sooner.

I've never been a big fan, especially NFL. I watch if I happen to be in front of it when it starts which is rare.
I don't like watching hardly any sports part way through, if I don't see it from the start I usually don't bother.

You are certainly not alone. I dunno...I've been a Chiefs fan since they came to town in 1963, and can't seem to shake it. However, I haven't set foot in Arrowhead Stadium since 1994. When the Anthem protests started I decided to boycott advertisers, usually following up with an email. So far I've been able to adhere to it for the most part, with the exception of Budweiser. :p My local hardware store has gotten a lot more of my business, since both Lowe's and Home Depot have advertised during NFL games.

Well I finally got my carry permit today, only took 3 months and 4 trips to the County Courthouse to get the friggin thing....I see this thread morphed into a football thread as sometimes happens around here and that's alright except that I'm a life long Atlanta Falcons fan and this year their defense has been so bad that Lieutenant Dan could easily roll for 10 or 15 yards a carry right up the middle.....This week they go to Pittsburgh and play the Steelers and their ref's...The Falcons came in the league in 1966 and have never won at Pittsburgh, how is that even possible?

Congratulations, but it really is sad so many of us have to get permission from the government to defend ourselves.

I nearly pulled the plug on my 21 year LE career yesterday. An officer bought a gun while at a training session out of state.
Had it sent to a Sgt with another agency that is an FFL. He wanted to get a CPL so he didn't have to wait. Here cops used to be able to use their commission card like a CPL but they took that away. Cops shouldn't have to wait.
Anyhow he asked me how long it took to get a CPL. I said I can do the background check in 15 minutes, we'll have it in an hour.
My immense leader crashed the Hindenberg on my party by insisting that we had to wait till a mental health check returned.
A cop worked for us for 10 years or more, had a mental check when hired, I've never received a denial and they take at minimum of a week.
I just about tossed the shield on her desk, haven't been that ticked off since last well Monday. I think I'm ready to hang it up anyhow.

There's always a first time, and this may be the week. I think karma is catching up with the Steelers, or maybe Big Ben is just getting old and losing his touch.

WOW...…….lot's of Steeler haters. Ref's or no ref's, when you play the Steeler's, you have to punch them in the mouth. They have always been a tough aggressive team...……...the Falcon's not so much. If you're not ready for a dogfight, they will beat you. Went through that with the GB Packers. Tough to beat at Lambeau field forever, until teams figured out that all you have to do is beat them up, and they fold like a wet towel.

If you're thinking about fully retiring, let me know and I'll give you some advice based on my recent experiences. Otherwise, give it some serious thought before pulling the plug with that many years under your belt.

Sent a PM. I guess fully retiring isn't the right word. I'd still work my 3rd job over at Tractor supply, maybe a little more often.
And still make fishing lures for Dick Nite. So I won't be in the recliner full time.

Reply sent. :) Retirement is good in some ways, but not so good in others...at least in my opinion. Having something to keep you busy, and out of that recliner will be a very good thing, IMO.

Interesting. Personally, in light of all the political goings-on as of late, as well as the "me too" movement, I'm thinking about becoming a misogynist. :p

You make Dick Nites?!? That is my secret weapon for trout and they have never failed me. Most folks around here don't have a clue about them, though I have to drive up to Denver to restock.
