I broke the trigger bar in my CW9 today. How can I release the striker to get the slide off?

Never come across this but I'd probably remove the side plate and see if you can reach enough of the trigger bar to give it a tug.
I think it takes a #6? torx bit. There's some good pics of removing it in the tech section.

Hopefully one of the others will be along with some more solid information.

Did as you suggested and it worked. Thanks so much for the help. Now to get a new trigger bar.

Let it be known to the world this day March 8th 2019 a day that will live in infamy bawanna made a suggestion that actually worked. I'm so happy. Wish my arms was long enough to pat myself on the back.
I've never replaced a trigger bar, do let us know how that goes. Others here I know have so if it gives your grief we'll figure it out.

When my K9 trigger bar broke, Kahr sent a return authorization and fixed it for free. My gun was out of warranty to boot. I suggest you email Kahr, explain what's happened and see what they say. Dismantling the trigger may be easier on a polymer gun for a DIY repair but it's a bit harder on a steel frame model so I preferred Kahr do mine.

Bawanna, congratulations. Your life has meaning finally.:yo:

I’ve pulled the trigger bar from my cm9, ct9, and cw45. If your good with tools and have some punches and patience you can punch out the trigger pin and do it in a couple of hours. I had a second Kahr to look at during reassembly which helped because they way the trigger, trigger bar, and spring all line up is in a particular way.

One item of note, while you have the trigger bar out make sure there are no burrs on it that would rub the plastic frame and the trigger bar spring. It will just make the trigger gritty and you’ll feel the need to take it apart again to polish everything. You won’t want to do it twice. But don’t do anything with the edge that interfaces with the cocking cam. Tolerances are pretty tight there.

I’ve had two broken trigger bars on my PM9. They broke at the “S” bend. While this isn’t commonly reported here it should not happen. Seems to be a problem when stamping the metal.

I e-mailed Kahr twice since it broke asking if I should send the gun in for repair. That was five days ago. No word from them at all. I have also orderd the trigger bar. I did get an e-mal saying that has shipped. I can see what they care about. It Isn't the customer. There service sucks. I am done with Kahr and will get rid of my CW9 as soon as I fix it. From now on I'll stick with my Smith & Wessons or Rugers .

If you haven't taken it apart yet, take pictures as you go.

dkelly27, Did you fill out the return authorization request form? That would be the place to start a factory repair. It's located under the customer service drop box on the home page.

Good deal, shouldn't take long to get that replaced. Hope the workload isn't large and it happens quickly for you.

dkelly - just out of curiosity....

Is the label addressed to Greeley PA, or Worcester MA?

Good question although I'm guessing Greeley as the entire operation is supposed to be there now, not sure if the admin division has moved yet or not.

My wait time about a year ago when I sent a K9 in for a trigger bar repair was 10 weeks and 4 days. It was free however.

I think you're gonna be pleasantly surprised. I know some of those folks up in Greeley.

They're passionate about what they do, and they're very skilled. Kahr put together a GREAT staff. Rest assured they'll be all over your CW9.

Wow. Makes me wonder why my repair took so long.

It could be it was just a busy time and large back log or it could have been like mine years ago when they just didn't have the part needed to fix it.

My K40 was all black when new, barrel and slide didn't mate up right, sent it back. Checked back and found they didn't have any black slides. I asked if I could upgrade to stainless thinking it would be a charge involved. They put a stainless slide on and I got it back the next day. No charge.
