What are you all drinking? Would love to hear what folks are finding tasty:)

My wife recently developed a taste for several of the blends/flavors from Bones Coffee and I have to say I found one that I like as well:

I cannot afford it, but 100% kona is the best I have ever had. My boss went there on vacation and brought some back. WoW. The stuff in the stores is typically a blend usually less than 10%. But the real stuff is AWESOME.
Mean while back at the farm, Ken usually drinks Costco brand Kirkland Colombian. I will have to say, it's the only 3 pound can that still holds 3 pounds. When I first joined Costo about 10 years ago, coffee was around 9.99. It has went up and down, but now it's till 9.99.

I usually don't go for the flavored coffee. I think that is how they sell the off grade stuff. Real coffee does not need a flavoring. A good steak does not need any steak sauce.

Still Folgers for me. Feel bad for Juan Valdez and his burro, must work 20 hour days to pick only the richest beans.

I drank Eight O'clock Columbian for years because of the reasonable price. Then I switched to Douwe Egberts breakfast blend, but now it's discontinued. So, the wifey found some Barissimo medium roast 100% Arabica and it's pretty good. I always keep my eye open for something I think will be good.

Deadman's Reach by Raven's Brew. t's our household staple. Not at all cheap but excellent coffee is one of my very few true luxuries. A coffee hound from way, way back, I got into upscale coffee, in bean form, back in the early 70's when it was almost impossible to find/get.

Not into flavored coffee at all, btw. I consider that close to a crime against nature.

Yes, genuine 100% Kona, roasted correctly, is truly excellent.

Many years back when on our honeymoon in Jamaica, I discovered Blue Mountain coffee. I am far from being even a casual coffee drinker but that stuff was outstanding! I checked prices on it a few weeks ago. For pure 100% Blue Mountain it costs $50/lb!!! Needless to say, for the few times a year I drink coffee, it is whatever the diner or breakfast nook we eat in has on tap.

Whenever I am hunting or camping, I will drink Folgers as that what is always on tap during those times.

I learned to drink coffee when I was at LSU 50+ years ago. I still prefer mine with chicory, and strong. The one we drink most at our house is currently Community Coffee and Chicory. It used to be Luzianne, but the stores in our area stopped carrying it.

So, I'm taking it that those of you that don't appreciate "flavored" coffee drink yours black without any sweeteners?
I tried that years back with an excellent Colombian coffee (that I really liked the taste of) but developed heartburn after every cup. I found that creamers/cream/milk/etc. mitigate that for me and I can enjoy coffee with out paying for it later.

I was stationed in Mississippi for few months and hooked up with a local girl. Her folks drank CDM brand coffee ( from the Cafe Du Monde ) on Bourbon St. I liked that chicory taste, but can't get it up here SC.

Best coffee I EVER drank was Bad Ass 100% Kona, on Kona. I looked it up yesterday and it's about $70 a lb. Not going to pay that for coffee and I'm not going to Kona anytime soon so I guess that'll remain a fond memory...

One of my Mom's favorite sayings... That and, "it's not coffee if you can't float a horseshoe on it." She drank it boiling hot right out of the percolator.

Actually, when I was in the military I always had a cup of hot java on my desk. I took two weeks leave and got the shakes. I was smoking at the time and figured it was my body telling me "give me nicotine" so I smoked more...still had the shakes.

It was the withdrawl of caffeine. I didn't drink coffee at home, only at the office, and since I wasn't providing the need, my brain was craving for it.

I don't drink any caffeinated products, and havent for 30 years.

If you want the true Cafe du Monde experience, add warm milk and sweeten it. Nothing much better than that and beignets dusted with lots of powdered sugar!

We like Greenwell Farms (100% Kona). They have a nice tour, too www.greenwellfarms.com (http://www.greenwellfarms.coim).
However, it’s a bit pricey, and I’m fine at home with multiple daily 12 oz mugs of stout black coffee made from Costco’s big bag of on-sale Starbucks beans, and whatever is offered free in the office (fancy, ground-and-brewed-to-order that’s not worth all the time it takes, imho, since I’m usually running to a meeting, and ‘now’ is more important than ‘quality’).
Speaking of beignets, we were in New Orleans this month and happened across the New Orleans Coffee & Beignet Company on St Charles in the Garden District. For beignet fans, I recommend trying them - they’re a bit thicker and more biscuity/pancakey in flavor than Cafe Du Monde’s. Not better or worse, but deliciously different and definitely worth a try, imo.

Black coffee, strong. I don't do Charbucks, that junk is burned. I also don't understand their language so I can't order properly. Why they can't just say small, medium, or large I don't know.

I put three scoops in the French press and boil about 16 oz of water.

Wow...I have forgotten about this coffee....I also first drank it in Mississippi. Stationed in Meridian in the late 60s, I too had a girlfriend with parents that only drank this coffee. I drank it to be polite, but never got to where I just loved the chicory taste.

I think its the 5 bucks for a 50 cent cup of coffee that turns me off to most.
That plus waiting in line. Only time I ever did it was for a coworker riding with me someplace, wanted to stop. Never do it again even for a co worker.
I do like my coffee strong and black.
Have to cut back on it again I guess, think I'm working on an ulcer or something. Gone from 5 or 6 large cups down to 1 and sometimes 2.

Probably should maybe add cream or something, never done that but it might help alleviate some of the issues.

They do it that way so you can still taste a little note of coffee when they put it in those stupid milkshakes people like to drink.

Loved it strong with half and half, or a bit of whip cream. The wifey can't have dairy, so I kind of weaned myself off of the good stuff, and now I use the faux creamer. Not the best, but dairy started bothering me also. Anyone hear of or drink that coffee that comes out of a specific animal that eats the beans then craps them out????? Saw it on tv...………..supposed to be the best on the planet. I don't care what they say, anything that comes out of an arse will not be coming even close to these lips, much less put in a cup. Kopi Luwak from Indonesia. Worlds most expensive.

Depends on how much of a kick start I need. Always use half and half - helps me avoid rot gut.

Typically use Folger's Classic Roast, unless I didn't get enough sleep. Then it's this stuff:

Starbuck's is the company that conveted much of the coffee universe to dark roast. Before them mild roast was king.

The wife drinks one cup of generic black decaf weekdays, two on weekends. She gave up the caffeinated when she retired 15 years ago.

I don’t drink any coffee durning the week, but make a latte on Saturday & Sunday - 16 ounce glass, half decaf, half skim milk, 4 teaspoons sugar, chilled to the point of freezing. Goes great with the big breakfast and 8 ounces of low sodium V8.

Interesting comments all. Back in the 1990's when I was shooting bullseye matches I always arrived early and made sure there were plenty of doughnuts and coffee for my fellow competitors. (not me)
It didn't work though as I never shot consistent enough to earn my way into that magic master class.

Interesting comment 340pd. A buddy of mine decided to join a local, amateur bulls eye competition. They hold matches in the evenings after work. The day of his first match, he laid off coffee, no soda, nothing. Said when he got to the match he was shaking all over the place. Caffeine withdrawal did him in. So... don't change up, just stay normal. (What ever that means).

How are you liking that Kusiak holster for your Sig?

Redwood

One thing that actually has improved in the last 40 years is coffee. There was a time when Denny’s was considered better than average coffee. It has gotten a little crazy when yo go to a Starbucks or independent shop and pay over $4 for a cup of good coffee. I can’t see ever going back to Folgers, Maxwell House, etc., but getting even the low end coffee at Costco for about $15 for three pounds and grinding at the store is a definite upgrade from the old brands in a can from yesteryear IMO. That’s what I do and it’s a definite upgrade if you appreciate a good mug of coffee.

By far the most comfortable IWB holster I've ever used. It's very thin leather, and actually pretty hard. Took a while to break in.

I got one of the first Minimalists Pepe Kusiak made for the P365. He quoted me two weeks for it to ship, but I had it in 6 days. Back then, it only cost $39. Easily worth twice that, and they're now $47.

Of all the leather holsters I own, I'd rank this right up there with Mitch Rosen's work. Yeah, I'm a Kusiak fanboy now.

"Irish coffee (Irish (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_language): caife Gaelach) is a cocktail (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocktail) consisting of hot coffee (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coffee), Irish whiskey (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_whiskey), and sugar (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugar), stirred, and topped with cream (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cream). The coffee is drunk through the cream. Originally straight cream was used; today whipped cream is most common."
