Seatle, Portland, Minneapolis, much of Colorado are all committing slow suicide by progressivism. The fine folks in CA started this mess and much of the population that refused to pay the taxes in CA moved to other cities, Unfortunately, they brought their politics with them and now you have this mess.
Today it is cool to be a progressive running for office. It’s happening in small towns too. Eureka CA is a nice friendly town, but now days if you drive through on Hwy 101 you’d think who would want to live here? The “progressives” dominate and efforts to grow the local economy are resisted in favor of more marshes, government owned land, trails and things that attract the homeless. When you’re going in the wrong direction isn’t the most progressive to do is turn around and reverse direction until you’re back on track?

My tinfoil hat may be too tight, but I believe that a lot of this has Russia behind it, doing their best to defeat us from within. May have started with the communist subjugation of Greenpeace. Knowing that the US could not be invaded and defeated, with the fall of the USSR the game plan became to defeat us from within, and enlisting the mindless minions of progressivism to do it for them.

And it may be working. Our next presidential election may be a telling point. Could any US citizen over the age of 40 or 45 ever have envisioned admitted socialists in the US Congress?

There's the problem... the Progressives/Liberals have had control of the schools through the teachers' unions for a long time and most of the teachers are indoctrinating the children, not teaching them about liberty, freedom, their rights, and the protection from the government that was written into our U.S. Constitution. The Constitution was written to LIMIT the GOVERNMENT, not the CITIZENS, and to protect our RIGHTS, not grant them.

Our country was a place to come to be free to prosper and enjoy the fruits of our labor without a tyrannical government acting as our lord and master. Much has changed... mostly due to the schools indoctrinating the children to be subjects... sheeple... dependent on the government for EVERYTHING.

Anyone with at least half a brain can see that everyone can't have everything for free, for who would work... when they can get the same as anyone sitting on their behinds.

We are definitely getting to the point where over half the people are not working and the ones who are working are starting to see where things are headed... with more and more "rights" being demanded or offered by a "political class" that deems itself elite and our betters, and more able to decided what's best for us... as they grow their own little empires and keep increasing taxes and regulations on the remaining working class.

We've seen this many times all over the world with Socialism, Communism, and Progressive One-World type movements and takeovers.

Trump saved us from Hillary or we would have had another civil war, but I think it's just a respite. Most kids are taught that the government can provide everything and knows best. No having been taught real history and government... OUR government and history, not the revised crap.

All of our income is from the government... retired USAF and Social Security. I thought we were really doomed because Obummer was trying to fail our government. I don't think that Trump can save us from the entrenched Progressives with their cadre of indoctrinated youth.

I live in a bad place for defense, but moving back to Texas is sounding iffier all of the time... O'Rourke almost beat Cruz for Senator and there are more and more immigrants coming into Texas, along with the Liberals flocking to Austin, San Francisco East.

We almost moved to the Tacoma area 22 years ago because wifey liked it up there. She changed her mind, fortunately, and I was happy to come here to NE Florida, but would love to get somewhere with a little land and be able to shoot a gun off the back porch... without anyone complaining or being arrested!

Dang... need to get on the treadmill and get my day going! It's afternoon and I have a lot to do!

Wifey thought better of "her plans" to go to the NW and we decided the SE was cheaper and I wanted to be near the Ocean, not the Gulf.

Now I wish we could have stayed in Texas, but away from the big cities. I don't know how long that will last. I keep thinking about some apocalypse and the all of the unprepared needy ones pouring out of the urban areas to share everyone else's stuff.

I would have to win the lottery to afford the out-of-the-way bunker that I would want for an off-grid retreat.

I guess I'm saving a lot of guns and ammo for someone... in the end.

Well, hopefully the future will get better with the Donald's intervention. He sure saved us from Hillary and the complete demise of everything that we know and cherish... but there's still a long uphill battle against the Left and all of the brain-washed youth supporting them.

At least I got me a .308 and when I get through with these danged radiation treatments 5 days a week, maybe I can get to the range and sight in my latest upper and accessories. I'm through 9 weeks on the 11th of April. Then I can start seeing all of the other specialists that I've been ignoring... even the dentist. :D

I'm very lucky and SEEM to have good health after 13+ months of sessions on my treadmill every other day and doing exercise and stretches. I can walk nearly forever and run for a few minutes. All of those "minor" aches and pains sure add up though. But I hope to be good for another 30 years or so... want to see 100 and maybe 60 years or more with my wife of 33 years now, as of the 22nd.

I hope that the new Attorney General cleans house and gets after the last administration. All of them are corrupt and ought to be in prison... some for real treason, including Obummer and Hitlery. :D

Bawanna, I would take Tacoma over staying here. A small house on the cliff above the papermill where you get the sounds from I-5 and the smells of whatever they are cooking down there. Maybe even South Lakewood, where the streets are lined with beauties who make you feel like your the best looking guy they have ever seen....even if your wife is in the car with you.

It all goes back to Saul Alinsky, author of "Rules for Radicals", which reads like a playbook for leftists in the U.S. today. All three hated the U.S. as founded, and were devout anti-capitalists. They suggested that the way to topple the U.S. and capitalism was to bankrupt the system from within...primarily by overloading the welfare and social programs. Sound familiar?
