After admiring my PM 40, and listening to my praise of it for several months now, we went to the gun store and today and he bought a P 380.

Then went to Wal Mart and found 300 rounds of winchester white box ammo.

Tomorrow I am going to help him pick out a pocket holster and order him some Gold Dot carry ammo.

He wanted a pocket pistol and looked at everything , but nothing compared with Kahr quality. He liked the Ruger LCP but said it just did not have the feel of the P 380.

I am going to help him clean and prep it , then its off to the range.

be sure to use a good, high pressure solvent and blow out any crud from the striker channel via the "clean-out hole". I would also recommend working the slide at least a bazillion times while it's DRY.... before you completely clean and lube it. Then give it a thorough cleaning (including the striker channel) and lube job.

Oh, did I mention to be sure and flush the striker channel?:D

p.s. if you decide you just have to lube the striker, make it just a tiny drop of very light oil. you don't need the striker to be a crud magnet.

Nicely played ...... your dad made a good decision.

I wish my dad was still around to take to the range with me. He would love the P380 or the PM9. He was a big fan of pocket guns.
