I’ve got a grip chopped TP9 and am looking at options for a pocket pistol. I’ve been considering a PM9 or a Sig P365. Anyone have feedback between the two?

I have both. The pm9/cm9 is slightly smaller and lighter than the p365. It pocket carries a little better. That said I like them both.

It looks like the p365 is similar to a P9 in size, is it significantly different in pocket carry? Which one shoots better? Thanks!

It’s actually closer to the pm9. Sig shoots better for me but there is not a significant difference for pocket carry, just very slightly taller and 3 oz.heavier. Pic is below.

Those are a lot closer than the numbers make it look. I’ll see if I can find one in a local shop to check out. Thank you for the help!

I carry a CM9. Love it, works great. That said...I like the extra round count and better factory supplied sights you get with the P365. If it had been available when I was shopping for a 9mm pocket carry handgun, not sure the CM9 would have come home with me.

I have both and regardless of the measurements, I find the Sig to be a more difficult to pocket carry than my PM9. For some reason it just feels overall to be a larger gun.
The trigger systems are so different comparing the two as to which shoots best is difficult. I have installed the Sig flat trigger on one of my Sigs and found that combination worked very well for me.
Overall, the Sig in a Vedder Lighttuck carried AIWB has been my choice for the past year and a half. I find if I am going out for a walk of have need for something pocket carried I grab my LCPII

I carry IWB at 1:30 so slide length is critical. I can carry my CT380 or CM9 comfortably but my P9 is a little too long. This pic convinces me that I can carry a P365 comfortably.

I have both, but IF I pocket carry I prefer the Kahr PM9. The grip is slightly thinner and it's easier to get a combat grip on the firearm.

I have a Sig P365 on my hip right now. It is a superb small pisto.
It can use 10, 12, or 15 round magazines.
it is accurate and reliable.
it is simple to take down for maintenance.

For pocket carry, I prefer a longer trigger pull like the Kahrs. I holster carry striker fired pistols. YMMV

I have a CM9, a MX9 and a Sig P365. The biggest thing I find between the three is the effort to rack the slide. Both my Kahr's are very hard for me to rack the slide when loading the first round from the magazine. With the Kahr's I always have to make sure I already have 1 in the chamber before leaving the house. The P365 is extremely easy to load in the 1st round out of a full round loaded mag. It takes about half the effort to load or unload the Sig. Therefore I only carry the Sig and the Kahrs have been sent to the safe. As far as size, they are all three close enough to the same that size doesn't come into play. If I wear pants with large pockets like Dickies carpenter shorts, I can very easily carry any of the three in a front pocket with a pocket holster. Another plus for the Sig is it holds 10 or 12 rounds, that's a big advantage for me. As far as shooting accuracy there is not much difference but the sig has a identifiable trigger break point, so I know when it is going to fire. I installed the flat trigger in my P365 and it tightened up my groups the smallest of the three guns.
I agree with markman. For pocket carry I prefer the longer trigger pull.

I can see having the longer trigger pull for pocket carry. The local shop has the Sig with a safety. I’ll give that one a look.
I need to drop 20# before 1:30 carry position would be ideal. I usually carry at 5:00 IWB. I’m looking for pocket carry as another option for the humidity. IWB will make things a sweaty mess in Florida.

I had a 365 and switched it out for a Sig 938, with the right pocket holster it is great and a good shooter. It is the smallest yet and holds 8.

I own one too, and it's quite small and light. I don't think most realize how tiny the P938 is. The frame is aluminum but I do believe that they offer one with a stainless frame now as well. Yes, you can replace the grips with thin wood or aluminum grips or you can go with fat Hogue rubber grips. Much nicer gun than the PM9 IMHO and just as concealable and compact.

I'm obviously ok with cocked and locked, and a safety on a belt gun. That being said I'm not warm and fuzzy to putting that same system in my pocket! Course I don't put any firearm in my pocket, just don't seem natural to me, never did and most likely never will.
Hey something must have got fixed....we can write cocked and the PC word police don't rain on our parade. I feel so free.

Dig look nice, but if any of u shooters own what I call THE BLUNT nose PM9 it is .20 SHORTER the PM9 that they make today. My PMJ9 full loaded with Corbin powerball weighs 18.5 ounces! There isn’t any pocket gun 9 that can come close to that. Why in Sam’s hell Kahr ever added .20?to the PM9 JUST to have a beveled front makes zero sense. Has road in my front jeans in a desantis for over 10 years. Sat many times with police officer biker friends an NEVER been asked. You may think it prints but u know it’s there, no one is really looking either. I have had a few gals inquire👌👌👌👌

They are relatively cheap at Optics planet and don't stick up like a rifle scope like RMR's.

I'd like to see one myself, I just figured out how it works just this morning. It's like that sight Trijicon brought out during Viet Nam. It relies on one keeping both eyes open so your right eye (if your normal) picks up the dot and your left eye picks up the target.
An instructor here explained it. Took his RMR and covered it up so you see the dot but can't see through to the target.
I was shocked that it actually worked.
I don't know that it would be any improvement for a person with tired eyes but maybe so. They make red and green so I'd like to see which if either shows up better for me.

Compared to the stock sights that may be an improvement. The stock sights weren’t any better IMO in the indoor range than the iron sights on the mil spec 1911. I prefer the stock i sights on my kahr to the stock sig. Hopefully shops start stocking the sas soon.

With my short barreled SD guns I tend never to look at the sights. I find myself looking over the sights and focusing on my intended target. This works surprisingly well for me out to 50'. I think this comes from my extensive use of SIRT training guns.

When a group of friends shot the 365 some felt the receiver was to narrow without riding the slide. It took some us to make a deliberate effort to not do this. Would you mind measuring the grip slide distance to the grip where you hold the gun with the thumb off hand? Also it seemed the trigger guard was a tad small. Not much room if you wore a glove.
Thanks

I need to get more practice in before I’m that comfortable with it. Also, planning to try out the sight before waiting for or buying a 365 SAS. If the sight isn’t good I’ll just get a standard 365. If I find the sight helps on the kahr, I’ll get the SAS and keep the site on the kahr to stay consistent between guns.

I’ll be glad to measure but I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking for. As for the trigger guard I didn’t notice much difference between the two. One gun that definitely needs a bigger trigger guard is the G43x. I bought one of those and it’s not as nice to shoot as the Sig or Kahr (way too small for me.)

I ordered a set of the Bullseye FT sites for my kahr. On quick inspection, I’m not that excited on them unless the ones on the SAS will be bigger. They seem to require the shooter be on with the sight alignment more than standard sights. Will install them and give a final impression.

Going to pass on any gun with the FT bullseye sights, including the 365 SAS. Too slow compared to standard sights and blurry for my eyes. Ordered a set of XS big dot sights instead for my Kahr. Will choose between 365 and 365XL.

And ended up with the 365 MS. The hellcat was tempting, but I've already shot the 365, the 365 has a 15 round backup mag option (10+1 + 15 = 26) vs the hellcats (11+1 + 13 =25), and the sig is easily swapped to a long slide with a red dot and external muzzle brake if I want something for more accurate plinking. Also, while my carry guns have all been DOA only, the manual safety was attractive as it is easy to manipulate on the one I picked up, and if I don't want it, it will be easy to remove and swap out for a new grip assembly.

Put 300 rounds through it today. Trigger has a nice clean break and reset. Trigger feels lighter than my TP-9, glad I bought the manual safety variant. No failures shooting an even mix of brass, aluminum, and steel (Federal, Winchester, and Freedom Munitions). Sights were pretty much on. I shot at 10,15, and 20 yards. Considering a red dot if I could get co-witness sights.

Swapped in a flat trigger and did another 150 rounds of ball and 30 of mixed hollow points and some +P. I might polish the trigger sear next, but I live that the reset is before the take-up in the first 2/3 of trigger travel. One reasonable pull and quick follow ups. .

Covert Kahr, Glad you like your P365. I have two and I did put a flat trigger on one and for me that was an improvement. As for riding the slide causing the slide not to lock back on the last round, that is just a matter of listening to this guy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiLuLKLQCMc&t=51s
Hopefully all the options for long slide, slide with the new sights, and low profile takedown and slide lock which will all interchange with our stock P365's.

That SIG 365 seems to really be tearing it up, since it came out. I've only held them in my hands at the gun stores, but never shot one. It is amazing how they got ten rounds, in such a compact package.

That’s what initially got me. I rented one at a range and decided it was good. Trigger was lighter than a kahr DAO so I went with the manual safety option.

I had a Kahr PM9. It was a tack driver and reliable as long as you loaded it as instructed by the manufacturer. Only reason I got rid of it was because I carry a glock and wanted similar trigger between my full size, compact, and single stack.

I have a CM9 and a P365 (recently acquired). Both are uncomfortable for me to pocket carry so I carry them IWB ~1:00.
The 365 feels a little better in my hand. The grip is wider but shorter front to back. Fits my hand nicely but of course that’s not the same for everyone.
Triggers are subjective. I prefer the 365.
It’s nice to have both. Giving the CM9 a rest for now.

I found the two big differences in the trigger were:
1) pivot location- kahr squeezes my finger between the trigger and trigger guard at the break point.
2) p365 trigger has a very definite break and reset do follow on shots are faster.
