I like these “full size” better than the Mustangs for some reason. Bought mine new about 1987.

Looks Nice!
I'm going to try out a Beretta 81 32 ACP.
Which is no pocket pistol.
12+1 with no recoil might be a winner? :)
Seems to be able to run cocked and locked too with a sweet ambi safety
BTW OEM trigger is pure butter :D

Nice. I have the exact same one bought in 1988 new. Mine probably has only 300-400 rounds through it. I still have the box and it sits in the safe in a bag with desiccant unless it’s out being cleaned. It’s the only gun I have that doesn’t get shot much. It is the one I used to teach all my kids to shoot with about 13 years ago.

I also have a Government Model .380 I acquired back in the early 80's. It's a really neat little pistol. I missed the chance to buy an ambidexterous safety for it when they were being offered by Brownells. By the time I found out about that option, they had been discontinued. I suppose the upside is that without an ambidexterous safety, I've not carried it ( I'm lefthanded). It's been hardly fired at all, maybe a box or so, and it remains pristine.

Cool! Mine is stainless, purchased about the same time.
A buddy had a Mustang, and the little Government was WAY more fun.

I’ve had two mustangs that did not run well. Always wondered if the gov’t model would run better than the ‘stangs. I sure love the looks of the gov’t. Maybe I need to start looking to find me a deal on one!

Those Beretta 81's are hot right now. The Italian police must have got rid of all they had left in inventory.

FWIW: When I got my Government model, I tried a several different rounds, including those old-style flat nosed Glaser Safety Slugs, Hornady JHP, some FMJ, and a mild reload I was using at the time with a cast bullet.. Never shot A LOT of any of the rounds I tested, but for the couple of magazines of each that I tried... they all ran flawlessly. The Mustang has that bad reputation, but I never heard it about the Government Model.
