View Full Version : Got an oddball...Bernardelli P One...Need a trigger bar

I got a hopefully good deal on a new gun, a Bernardelli P One 9mm. Kind of a cross between a sig and a eaa. Just the gun and one 15 round mag was un passable at $275. Guy said the trigger bar was broken, according to his gunsmith.
If I half cock it, or if I put it in single action it will trip the sear/hammer just fine, but not in double action. Pulled it down to find that the trigger bar is ever so slightly rounded/worn, so it just slips under the sear when trying to pull double action. So...I’m on the hunt for a trigger bar. My web search has been fruitless. Anyone have a lead I can chase down? With what I paid, I can just keep it as a range toy, but am hoping to find a trigger bar to return it to 100%. Thanks in advance!

You might find a talented welder to tig in a bit of metal and file it back to shape.

Thanks for that thought!
You know, I thought about that. I just wonder if that would hold. I could re shape it pretty easily, but just gotta wonder if it would hold. My concern is, would my attempt further mess it up if it failed, preventing me from even being able to shoot it in half cocked or full cocked as I can now.

Not sure but might check Numrich/Gunparts Inc, they got a tone of different parts for all sorts of stuff, weather they got that or not I couldn't say.
Pretty nice looking gun, definitely worth trying to get back on the track.

Thanks for the idea! I did check them. They seem to have a few parts for the other Bernadelli’s, but not the P One. Thanks again you man of leisure you! ;)

Well now you've made it a personal challenge, tomorrow whilst I'm taking a mental health day, it will be my mission to locate said parts and pieces. I can do what I want right?

That is a good looking pistol. I think I would have had to buy it too and take the challenge.

Thank you! I had looked it up prior and read/ascertained that the owners were happy with them. Some had other models by the same manufacturer and stated they held this model in high regards. If I had not read that I may have passed, even though it is a looker, in my opinion as well. Thanks again!

You might find a talented welder to tig in a bit of metal and file it back to shape. Or, a talented machinist, who could make you the whole part. Not to burst your bubble, but I actually saw a few people offering rewards for parts. Don't give up just yet. You've got people working on it...…………………………………………………………...

You've got people working on it...…………………………………………………………... True and true! I bet a part like this would be mighty expensive to have a machinist make. Would be pretty cool though to have a few made as I’m sure there are others out there that have had this same issue. Thanks!

Sheez! Was it wittled fron 24k? Lol! I think it’s a nice pistol, but just don’t see anywhere near that kind of value in one of these. Maybe it’s the rarity part of it. I did read that they are not made any more. Even still, there’s a ton of others out there that I would rather spend $1700 on before one of these. But, I know everyone has their own internal value system. Thanks!

Bernadelli has an announcement on their website ( http://www.bernardelli.com) that partially translates to "Below are the data to contact the companies to contact based on the type of weapon for which they need spare parts / assistance."
Here's how Google translates what follows that:
For DOUBLE, SEMI-AUTOMATIC, PUMP
- contact the company FPA F.lli POLI ARMI
Address: Via Giacomo Matteotti, 163 - 25063 Gardone V.T. (Brescia)
Tel: +39 030 8912779 - E-mail: info@fpafratellipoli.com
The FPA F.lli POLI ARMI, in addition to the repair and sale of spare parts, is able to replace the barrels with new registration and testing at the National Testing Center of Gardone V. Trompia.
For PISTOLS, FLOBERT RIFLES
- contact the company BRUGAR S.r.l.
Address: Via Giacomo Matteotti, 303 - 25063 Gardone V.T. (Brescia)
Tel: +39 030 8912467 - E-mail: info@brugar.com
(Here's their English website: https://www.brugar.com/en/ )
ASSISTANCE FOR WARRANTY WEAPONS
Anyone wishing to take advantage of technical assistance under warranty must provide the company with the documentation certifying the date of purchase and communicate in advance:
Model of the weapon with all the technical features.
The serial number of the weapon.
If the weapon was purchased by a previous owner.
However, before sending the weapon to the company in charge of the requested intervention, the procedures to be followed in order to use the service must be agreed with the company.
ASSISTANCE AND SPARE PARTS FOR WEAPONS NOT IN WARRANTY
It is essential to provide the following data:
Model of the weapon with all the technical features
The serial number of the weapon.
For very dated weapons (this point particularly concerns the Doublets and some models of Guns) the company in charge of the intervention could request further data to check the availability of the requested spare part.
We are certain to have made a choice that can fully satisfy the needs of the owners of weapons of V. Bernardino.
The direction.
Regards,
Greg

Wow, this is a tough one. Found parts for the VP's smaller Walther looking guns, but the P is a Whooley Mammoth. Greg as usual might have nailed the only possible option.
The game ain't over but I got a do some other stuff for a bit, retirement ya know, busy, busy, busy.

Metal melted into metal isn't going to fall out. If your search fails and you are worried about destroying the part with weld you could try JB Weld.

It is a tough one apparently! I’m hoping Greg’s find will pan out. Whooley Mammoth...LOL!

That’s another good idea. If I can’t find one, I may just try JB Weld. It did wonders for me years back on a ‘68 Firebird manifold. If it fails I don’t think it would hurt anything. There’s extra room in there for a chip of that stuff to move around. After that, I would try the welding route. Before I do that though, and only if Greg’s leads don’t pan out, I might swing my a machinist or cnc place to see what they say. Thanks for the ideas!

I read a posting from a guy from 2014 who contacted the co. regarding parts. He was told that parts are non existent. I think you may want to search for another pistol to use as a parts gun, if you could find one for reasonable price. I guess it depends on how bad you want to get this firearm going???????

Yes, if I could find a parts gun at a good enough price like this one, that would for sure be the way to go. I could most likely recoup my investment in selling off the other parts others may want. I think I may have a slim chance though, as Bawanna put it, this thing is a Wooly Mammoth. I have already emailed the contact on the info Greg gave me (last night) and am hoping they respond with a “yeah, we have what you need”, but based on what you are saying I may not get that email. If I can get to one tomorrow I am going to go visit a machine shop. Thanks!

Nothing wrong with a Wooly Mammoth, I think it's worth the challenge and sometimes it's kind of fun hunting down Wooly Mammoth parts. If you find one, get some bones too, make pretty grips. Been looking for one myself, somebody told me they was extinct....who knew.

It may be worth a call to Ahlman's also, they have tons of parts in stock and have been around since 1943.

P.S.
They even have a wooly mammoth there!

Minnasota, lets see that's east of here pretty fur piece. Probably have to gas up.
Gotta see me that there Wooly Mammoth.
Maybe I could sleep in your barn and save hotel fee's and such? Wait that's the land of super cold and winter and snow, I might have to hold off till spring, me old bones don't cotton to the cold so much these days.
I'll go hang with Greg for a spell, warm down there, lots warmer than here, guess that would make me one of them snowbirds, which I think is worse than a tourist.
