Well, back in the Glock box again. Picked up a G17 gen 4 after Christmas on sale. 250 flawless rounds today. That’s better than the g19 gen 4 I owned about 5 years ago that was fail to feed regularly. This may be a keeper.

Although I am not a fan of Glocks as I tend to shoot all of them center left, they make a really solid line of reliable firearms and I can see the logic of having a battery of them for carry and home protection. There are so many great aftermarket parts available, they have become the 1911's of my era.

yqtszhj,
Congrats on the G17!
I've two Glocks and appreciate both. The first one I ever bought, a G27, has been a solid performer since day one (that includes use of spare G26 top end) The second is a Gen 3 G19 that needed a few tweaks, but runs well now. The G27 saw quite a bit of carry before I found the CW45. The G19 doesn't see much use, but is at the ready in one of the bug out bags. As 340pd wrote parts and accessories are readily available for them, so I doubt I'll ever part with them. Especially since my SUB2000 runs on Glock mags.
Regards,
Greg

I've owned several G27's, a 30 and a 36 over the years. All went to cops during the gun scares and the market went crazy, figured they needed them more than me. Never had issues, shot all well especially the 27's. I did much better with the double stack 30 than the single stack 36. Never could figure that one out as I liked the size and feel of the 36.
Went with zero Glocks (except at work) for many years.
When I pulled the plug, they gave me my G21SF. I'll hang onto this one. It's been to Robar and had grip reduction and texture. Feels good in hand and I can dismantle it completely and almost put it back together blind folded. Actually did it a few times at work for fun.
Don't ever ever I mean ever call the Glock the 1911 of our day. It may be so but just don't say it. Please.....

I happened across a 2008 never fired G19 gen 3 about a year ago for cheap from a guy and bought it as a project. It has ran well and I’ve made it fit me. Ground off the front and back strap nubs and most all of the finger groves (actual result was lowering the finger groves down the grip by relieving the top of the finger humps.) This in effect reduced the grip size nicely. Then I stippled the front and back strap with very fine dots filling in what I removed and put rubber Talon grips on the sides. Also put on some Ameriglo I-dot night sights. It had a very crisp trigger our of the box (for a Glock). Doesn’t even feel like a Glock any more and I shoot it well. So now I’ve got a G17, Yqt Custom G19, and a 43x that I’m waiting to get some of the upcoming 15 round mags for.
I think that about satisfies any Glock desires.

I mostly agree but they make a great cop gun. Simple as they can get, easy to maintain, seldom fail, course I had zero issues back when we carried Beretta 92's and 96's although other agencies had nothing but issues, never could figure that out either.
That being said I'll keep this one and stay proficient. Department wants to maintain my Armorer certificate and have me come back once or twice a year or as needed and go through them, check them over. Keep me at least a tiny bit in the game. Never hurts to have 35+ cops at your back when needed.
The trusty 1911 of the day still rides with me daily, doubt that will ever change.
