Just ordered another Remington RM380 pocket pistol. This is the bought out & slightly redesigned Rohrbaugh R380.
Gave the first one I ordered to one of my sons in ‘18. Nicely made little thing, a bit larger than an LCP, but has a milled aluminum frame instead of plastic. Normally these come with two magazines, but this sale they send five mags. $199.99 plus shipping (and I have to pay Texas sales tax). Darn good deal.
Only drawback is a terrible trigger, but they smooth out with use.

Not a bad looking gun asthetically speaking.

Well, it really is a Rohrbaugh design, and Remington actually did a good job with it.... unlike that R51 fiasco and some long guns. The fit & finish on the first one I bought almost two years ago was very good. I never shot that one before giving it to my son, but he says it functions and shoots just fine for a “belly gun”. The model has mostly very good reviews from real owners. No, it is not a Glock, Sig, or S&W, but it’ll do.
Hope the new one is just as good.

Yes, it is a good little gun. I’m kind of shocked that Remington has not followed up with a 9mm version by now. I bought one a few years ago with the big rebate attached. It’s been kind of a project gun for me and I have poured money into it for numerous mods. The gun didn’t need it, I just enjoyed doing it. Mine wears (now out of production) VZ G10 grips and has every part that Galloway makes for the inside of the gun installed. I polished the feed ramp and barrel (do do that!) and added a laser... just because.
My Brother bought one a few weeks before mine and other than the VZ grips I bought him for Christmas, the gun is both bone stock and his EDC.
The stock trigger is very Loooong in stroke and mine was a bit gritty new, but it went bang for me every time. It’s is very DA revolver like and the shot breaks just before the trigger hits the frame. My wife HATES the stock trigger and couldn’t make the little gun run right. Everyone else’s though shot it just fine. I had two feed failures in the first 50 rounds with Winchester flat point target ammo, but none since. Eats everything I feed it now just fine. Not sure if the improvement was about it “breaking in” or my feed ramp polishing after the first 50, but what works, works. My brothers (bone stock) gun has an occasional failure to feed on my flat point ammo but he just buys Blazer brass for target shooting and has zero issues with it. I need to polish his barrel one of these days, but he does not worry about it as we shoot Hornady CD ammo for SD and we have zero failures with that ammo in either gun.
Do enjoy your RM380, that’s a great price and you made a great deal.

But where did you get it from??
Trying to add pics of ours, but it ain’t working from my cellphone...
I will try again later from my home computer.

Mine has been 100% reliable through 800 rounds but shows wear on the aluminum frame.

The trigger really is bad. I recently installed Galloway’s new short stroke trigger but haven’t tested it yet. Much prefer my CT380.

Planedude, I bought it online from CDNN, which is located in Abilene, Texas. I liked the deal not only because of the $200 price, but because it also included the 5 magazines instead of just the original 2.

Here is that pic of my modified RM380 beside my brother’s stock gun (except for grips)

I am remiss for not spotting that deal on CDNN Armybrat. I get their emails everyday. Guess I’ve got to open them before I delete them to get a good deal... [emoji38]

Peace

These little guns seem to respond very well to feed ramp polishing. Mine took about an hour with mothers and q-tips while I watched a football game in the man cave. The barrel comes with the barrel black finish on the ramp and my Winchester white box flat point ammo would hang up on the ramp. A smack to the back of the slide seated all of them, but I worried about hollow points for SD.
My brothers bone stock gun has had the same issue, but he has more rounds thru it an it’s not a big deal to him (1 failure to feed in 200rds). He just buys Blazer Brass (round nose) ammo for his range ammo and he has zero issues.
He feels he can tolerate an occasional feed failure if it’s on the range, shooting (my) “free” range ammo... if you can imagine that.
Since I worked on my little gun I have had zero feed issues.
I like the all the Galloway parts, but my trigger has very sharp edges and my finger feels it after a couple of boxes at the range. I will have to get out the diamond files and the cold blue touch up next extended clean-up time. Other than that it’s been a cool project.
I will say this though, I carry my Kahr P380 way more and shoot it a tad better.
Of course, I’ve owned it far longer and fired many more rounds thru it.

Peace

Picked it up today, and it really did come with 5 magazines (1 flush, 4 with finger grip).

Fit & finish is very good. I’ll give my son two of the extra mags, then shoot this new one for function before gifting it and the three remainig mags to my granddaughter.
