I dig it. How many rounds with the extension?

OEM mag is 20, it's 20+1 Winchester Ranger T-Series 147 gr
Light is Inforce 400 lumens.

Well that should work. Between that mag and a second one...41 rounds is a whole lotta “get the f outta here”! That T-Series is a nasty, very good expanding round!

I've got three mags, but thanks.
I'll run my 12 gauge first, but the Hk as a back up makes sense
Federal LE 00 Buck is the first line of defense.

I looked a bit further into that round. I’ve always liked Paul Harrell’s testing/videos! https://youtu.be/PyIrt7-kzjY

I keep mine loaded with Liberty Civil Defense. I love the minimized recoil with it. https://youtu.be/nyLVu_3pOO4
Just saw your above post and gonna go check out that test too!

Wow! Cool test chart with a good spread of parameters! That PDX1 is some super expanding stuff! I’ve often wondered about staggering different loads in the mag, thinking “what if they (bad guy/guys) duck down behind something? What if there are two in a row coming through a doorway, etc?” You know, one round w/good penetration, next one good expansion, next one heavy, light, hollow, fmj...

I think we have an official “HD/Nightstand Gun” thread started!
I too have a 12 guage, or mini 14 that gets grabbed. I have a bag that gets slung over my shoulder with the M&P, it’s spare mag, my carry (P365) and it’s spare mag, and lastly my bug (LCP) and it’s spare mag. A back up flashlight is on that bag too.

I'm going old school home defense, FN style with a Hi Power!

Yea, it's whatever works for each individual. I'm always on the hunt for a "phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range" but haven't found one yet!

Linky no worky, and quite pricey if it did. Maybe just out of stock! : )

My HK Defense is a little simpler - HK USP 40 with night sites and two 14 round mags. I actually have two pistols hidden outside the safe, but this is the primary. It's too big to carry anyway.

This is my backup HD gun, primary being a Tavor X95 in .300BLK. Only thing missing from both guns are suppressors, but that's a work in progress. I've considered RMRs but I'm not sure how useful they'd really be in my small house, what with the tritium sights seeming to work just fine.
