Wow....I hate being right. I decided yesterday to suspend my workouts at the gym. Just read in today's paper....that the gym closed due to pandemic!

Wow. OK. I worked out there Saturday, was unable to yesterday, and they closed today.

I hate to see it but the less we let this thing spread, the more likely we are spared what Italy is going through.

Time to get out P90X!

We have a high end treadmill and a Schwinn Airdyne positioned in front of a flatscreen. I walk outside for an hour but my wife has tens of thousands of booked miles on that treadmill. It has been a great investment. The Airdyne will beat you to death if you allow but what a great arm and leg workout in just a few minutes. Other than that, it is light weights, or drawing and holding a compound bow a number of times in front of Netflix.

Gyms have always seemed like a petri dish to me. Best stay away until long after this "crisis" has passed and we discover the real reason it happened in the first place.

I don't have the floor space for a bike, not without getting rid of living room furniture. LOL

I'd like to have a stationary bike as they are great ways to burn off fat.

The reasons behind the virus we'll never really know, although we do know the communists hate us, really hate Trump, and have no concern for their own people. Wuhan hosts a bio weapons lab and the Chinese have a habit of eating all manner of bizarre and very rare animals, their tastes drive the poaching of elephants in Africa and of sharks in the oceans.

Also, most Americans lack even a basic understanding of science, many cannot name the planets nor understand what body orbits the other (I have seen that first-hand), they are addicted to social media and smartphones.....whatever they read they believe and so, when scared (habit of the uneducated) they react and buy everything they can. I was just discussing with a friend, nutrition professor at Purdue U., how silly it is to wear gloves in public. It only provides a false sense of security as they will still be touching their food packages......very silly but they are scared and not educated in that area.

I needed masks to crawl under the house yesterday but the hardware store was sold out while safety glasses were not touched. A droplet in the eye is just as bad as one on the nose......and masks for dust have no effect on a tiny virus particle but people are uneducated and scared. SMH.

Is the media and big tech companies out to get Trump? Sure they are! Have been since Nov. 9. Is this virus real and can it overwhelm the medical system? You bet it can. Two things can be true at once. (Ben Shapiro).

Who wants to go sit on and grab gym equipment full of other people's sweaty stinky germ-laden scum?

Well who wants to go into a church and hold hymnals handled by every coughing, over-the-hill geezer too long for this world? I mean, it's the same thing.....still handling objects used by strangers.

I wipe down the equipment both before and after, I don't have a pool in my house, I don't have an indoor track, and I enjoy making new friends. Even if I did have the money for the dream house in my mind, complete with pool, steam room, hot tub, indoor track, exercise machines, weights, etc.......I would miss the people I talk with at the gym. I am yet to meet one person at the local YMCA that is disrespectful. Everyone I have met there is at least courteous if not very open and friendly. Fellowship is very important to me and generally, good health overcomes and prevents illness anyway.

We are social creatures and society is being hurt greatly by social media and smartphones which directly assault human contact.

Once this is over, assuming I live through it, I will rejoin the gym no matter what I am doing with P90X and road biking.

I've been going to our local Anytime Fitness franchise for some time and really enjoy it. When they were forced to close I put my kayak back in the water..(it's been a while...) and got back to inshore fishing down here on Florida's E. coast. It's not as good for total body workout, but it helps in the interim...AND...sometimes there's a Flounder or Redfish to take home for dinner..!!

Most of all the gyms in my area are or will be closed. I do have a variety of dumbells, a barbell, chin bar and treadmill at home so have been doing the best i can working out with what i have. My wife and i both are quarentined so even trying to do some things together. Even the dog gets in the act. Get a lick or two in the face doing pushups or a plank.;)

Road biking now closed out too, as WV went on total lockdown the other day. It's still too cold to do much outside anyway and I don't want to risk a normal cold.

Been too busy to do anything what with dad's rather untimely decision to replace all the plumbing under his sink!

Being a regular bicycler I don't see why it should be closed down unless you are riding in groups. I ride almost every morning and I see very few people walking and no sidewalk meetings. It is a solo thing, why not let it go on? Fresh air and exercise are good for yur general health.

Entire state is shutdown, so I assume that includes the park. I wasn't going to socialize anyway, but that's the order. What I intend to do is wait for a dry day, haul my equipment over to my ski condo that I won't be renting out, and do P90X there. I will check my bike out, see if the tires will hold air, and if so, oil the chain, etc. and haul that over to the condo also. I can ride it on the ski resort property without much worry of interruption along with riding it on a large paved expanse at the foot of the hill, as that motel resort will be shut down too.

I'll try and ask permission if anyone is there to ask.

Keeping the bike at the condo will work out better than hauling it down to the park to ride it. I would like to ride it to and from the park but that's very dangerous given the number of rednecks still blasting down this road at 2x the speed limit.

I'm a serious gym rat and the closure is killing me
Bought a pair of dumbbells trying to workout at home.
I'm 100% work from home now.
Likely till around June.
At least I still have a full time job, for now...

Funny meme there.....:p

Not all bad with things closed. I found out yesterday the mall parking lot is going to be a great biking area due to zero traffic. As soon as it warms up into the 60's again, I hope to be out riding.
