Seems odd, since if I remember correctly they would remove and dispose of the part if you sent one in for repair.

I think they've been offering a few of Lakeline's products. The fact that they're offering a more robust striker than their own is telling. I have Lakeline in the P380 that I carry from time to time. I'm thinking that if the striker on my new $299 P380 breaks, I'll ask Kahr to replace it with Lakeline's instead of their own. :D Hopefully it doesn't come to that, but it would be interesting.

You make a good point about if it breaks, ask them to replace it with the Lakeline. However, I plan on using the new P380 as a carry and shoot the CW for range. So might just go ahead and put one in the carry gun. I have quite a few rounds through the CW with no breakage. (about 1500). So maybe I will just see how far it will go without breaking. I am also a bit OCD and buy a lot of extra parts for my guns. I have a spare striker just in case. It would seem that Kahr would put one in the Premium series given the cost of them over the CW380.I mean, wouldn't a premium series get all premium parts?
