This is a photo of my P210 Standard taken right after I picked it up.

It seems, that after some use, the grips are starting to develop some chatoyancy/figure. Granted it's not a lot, but I'm hoping it progresses with more use.

Very nice! I'm anxious to see the new P210 Carry when it's released, and to see what kind of grips they put on it.

Have to admit that I had to look up chatoyancy. Learn something new every day, that's my motto :)

Chatoyancy, is posting a post to drive bawanna absolutely crazy as he waits to purchase his very own P210 Target........

It was my intention to purchase one (which I've wanted every since Greg posted his first picture of his) when I retired. Brought home a pretty fat retirement check and thought it was in the bag. Sadly it was direct deposit like my normal pay and I never saw it again.

So I continue saving (almost there) but get shot down when something breaks sometimes. I'm holding firm now though, when something breaks she can take it out of the general fund.

FYI- rumor brought up by Greg as usual is the P210 Standard is discontinued, probably due to the arrival of the 210 Carry. I had lowered my standards to get a standard but not any more, I'm going target and I'll get some standard grips if I decide to carry it now and again.

If them is oil finished Greg, take linseed oil very sparingly and rub the heck out of them, they'll pop more and more.

For those just now joining our saga, this is indeed not the definition of chatoyancy.....I gotta go look it up too, I don't get out much.

Encouragement?

Or cruelty?

Both actually. I've gotten side tracked to other stuff that was less money but I'm trying to stay focused this time around although there are other temptations all the time.

#MeToo Bawanna...Every since Greg posted up about his P210 (I did not know they existed prior), I too have been hunting for a deal on one.

The strange thing about the Sig is almost every quote is the same, very little price spread. 3 shops in town all said 1449.00 or something like that which is almost exactly what the are asking on line. The good part I guess is since they are the same they can order it and I don't have transfer fees. We pay tax on everything now online or local so no longer any savings there.
One day my canoe will come in. That's one of the most beautiful guns I've ever laid eyes on, next to a nice 1911 that is.

And arguably with a trigger to match Colonel. That's why I'm so interested in the Carry, even though if I'm going to carry a nearly full size 1911-ish gun I prefer it to be in .45. I do love the 1911 trigger when done right.
I've encountered a one or two online sites that don't charge our sales tax. Yet

Bawanna

Our tax is collected at our dealer unless the seller already collected it. Legally we're supposed to pay sales tax on everything bought on line, unfortunately guns are the only thing they can track so in essence they have turned our gun shops into tax collectors.
Hopefully we'll have a new governor and I pray a new attorney general and maybe things will get better.
Even Trump said our governor was no good, love that guy more and more every day.

Inslee stopped by my house once many years ago when he was running for his first Rep term and we lived up north. He was canvassing neighborhoods to shake hands and let people see his face. At the time he seemed like a moderate or centrist liberal. He has sure changed since then. Some of the stuff this guy does makes it appear that he's only interested in governing King County. And making decisions in line with the majority there. He has surely jumped on the Leftist bus.

That's all he has to do to control the whole state, the population density in King Co far exceeds all the rest of the state. So what they want the folks in Eastern Wa have to live with. One reason the state should be split and make Eastern Wash it's own state. We could call it Washington and Western Washington could be California North Annex or something.
I'd of course have to move which would probably contribute to ruining Eastern Washington as many would also move which is actually what happened on the West side. California's tired of their BS down there moved here and then created the same BS they moved away from.

My daughter and son in law just bought 160 acres in Idaho, I suspect since Grandma can't stand to be away from the grandkids for any length of time I'll probably be moving anyhow. 160 acres out to be room for grandpa to shoot I reckon.

160 acres? I should hope to shout. I can think of worst ways to spend my golden years than to have grandkids around and that much acreage to putt around on. And Idaho is pretty conservative, which is a bonus if you're of like mind, and I 'spect you are. Was looking for places there in the early aughts but decided the area we were looking at, which was close to the Snake was too close to the Snake.

Here what you're saying about people moving to get away from a place only to do their darndest to turn it into what they left behind, or fleed from. Happens with our immigrants these days as well doesn't it?

Anyway Greg, your gun's a beaut and from what I've read is one of the most accurate pistols ever made.

Bawanna

Oh yeah, it's happening all over, Colorado, Texas, AZ. People get away only to ruin an area by creating the same crap they were getting away from.

And your correct Gregs gun is drop dead gorgeous, maybe the prettiest gun I ever laid eyes on. This waiting for the canoe is painful, but I'll just curl up on the kitchen floor and suck my thumb for awhile and I'll be ok, really I will. Maybe.

Another bonus to the Idaho 160 acres is the neighbors got mules. I love mules. My wife and daughter have horses but I've always been partial to mules myself. Maybe being born in Missouri put something in my blood.

Interesting story since it's Saturday for me again and just after noon.
My uncle told me back when him and my dad were early teens (large family 5 brothers and two sisters) they were out plowing behind my granddads match team of mules. At that time a pair of matched mules was like owning the finest John Deere tractor ever made. Highly coveted and their lives basically depended on the work they could do.
Well one of them was being your typical mule contrary and ticked my dad off. He rared back and launched a dirt clod (no harder dirt clods than Missouri dirt clods) and hit that mule right in the side of the head.
It dropped like it had been shot! Both my uncle and my dad of course were in instant panic mode especially my dad who within seconds was basically doing mouth to mouth and first aid to bring that critter back to life.
Turns out he'd hit it just right somehow and knocked it out. A few minutes later it got up and went back to being cantakerous.
They were both so glad they didn't have to run away and spend their lives on the run.

Incidently it's Missouri, not Misery, still miss it.

Well boys (and girls, real shortage of girls around here lately) I got a bid in on a genuine Sig P210 Target. 17 hours to go, lots of previous bids but I'm the winner at the moment at only 1035.00. I'm not optimistic but maybe I'll get lucky. Every other one is 1449 or 1499 or much higher.

This just might be my canoe arriving?

Bidding is fun isn't it? Years ago, when I didn't have home internet, I used to call a friend and get him to log into my gunbroker account and up my bids like a broker. Fun times. Good luck, hope you get it but don't blow out your wallet doing so.

It's over for me on this one. I upped it 3 times but it's pushing 1200 now and most likely will go higher. I can support local and have them get me one for around 14 and not pay 40 bucks shipping and another 40 for a transfer so I'll let it go.
Right at the limit of my play money and any more, wife would drive me in the ground like a tent stake.
I gotta man up again one of these days, this is MY castle and I make the calls around here........

The book, Hard Knuckle Negotiation by Raoul Felder, stated: "never want something too much for you will pay too high an emotional or economic price for it." That is completely true.

Glad you knew when to stop! Your enthusiasm helped the seller, the economy, and you got out fast enough.

Just ended, went up to 1396. So no great savings there, as I predicted money ahead to order locally. Still wanted it in the box now, course with shipping, waiting for the shop to remember to call, and mandated waiting period for good guys, it would be at least 2 weeks anyhow, I'll be ok, really I will.
Show me on the kitchen floor.

If you don't buy local how can you expect them to stay in business. Unfortunately we no longer have a stocking gun shop in town. Fortunately there is a reasonably priced LGS though. You can't hold it before you buy it when you buy on line. Smart move Colonel.

You know I was thinking you do have that fine Wilson to console yourself with.
Then, while surfing the web, I stopped by bladeforums......JUST HOW MANY KHUKURI DO YOU HAVE?https://www.animatedimages.org/data/media/2152/animated-cool-smiley-image-0062.gif (https://www.animatedimages.org/cat-cool-smileys-and-smilies-2152.htm)

Before we get into that you have to know that my addiction to Khukri's is also totally your fault. You sent me that lovely RR and told me about HI and well it kind of blew up from there.
I've not counted probably should one of these days. I'll look for a pic.
