"Divorce paperwork said I had to sell, here it is for sale."Of course...the fly in his buttermilk is that if, as he says...the divorce agreement stipulates that he HAS TO SELL doesn't sound like the agreement stipulated anything about price in EITHER DIRECTION so he might find himself legally required to accept ANY offer to buy...since he HAS TO SELL. If there's no protection (for both parties btw..) in the agreement regarding "market price" or appraised value or time frame for the mandatory sale to take place then it was poorly prepared and should never have seen the light of day.

I wouldn't mind the Browning. I'll offer him a dollar, and his wife gets fifty cents.

Offer him a dollar, she'd get 85 cents. Depending on what state they are in.

Either way, he can tell her she got her fair share.

If he's willing to sell the gun and case separately, he'd be prudent to list them "separately". Offer him 10 cents for the gun, and "full price" for the case and everything else in it.

He's in Colorado Springs, just down the pass about 35ish miles from me. Wish I could help the guy out. I wonder if would do a trade? From what he stated, he HAS TO SELL them, but nothing about replacing them. Hmmmm?

Why not sell it to a friend for a $1 (assuming friend can own it legally) and after the divorce buy it back for $1?

I would think if legit and a lawyer involved....the lawyer got an estimate of value and he will have to fork over MARKET VALUE. A judge would not allow that to fly.

Why not just pay her half of the value and be done with it? Anything else is just asking for trouble.
