Anyone ever completely disassemble and reassemble a steel framed Kahr?

This is the only video of tutorial I seen, are there any others? Is it as difficult as he says it is to remove the trigger pin?

I've done it and the trigger pin can be stubborn. I'd say at minimum you need a solid working surface, a way to hold the frame securely on that surface (you want no bounce of the gun or your work surface), a sufficient hammer and a starter punch. I also used penetrating fluid (PB Blaster); letting that sit over night.

A press would be better.

FWIW, the table that gent is using in the video does not appear to me as sufficient for the task.

Agreed! I wouldn't remove it unless you have to do so. I only removed mine as I upgraded my K9 from the NYPD to Elite Trigger. It was stubborn but a BIGGER hammer solved the problem.

I very much agree about the press for the trigger pin. No size of hammer, short of Thor showing up, would have gotten mine out (K9). Harbor Freight has one that is relatively cheap (in every sense of the word), but gets the job done. Also lets you press new bearings into skateboard wheels. My son has used it more than I!!!

A nice mod for those is to drill a hole in the end of the ram that will accommodate a punch set. If desired, another hole can drilled from the side ram and tapped for a locking screw.

Good idea! I held the punch under the ram, and against the pin, while lowering it. But, that was a bit “squirrelly”. I have a newly acquired drill press, so drilling that ram might just be it’s inaugural run (it is an old, used one, so not really).
