The slide/frame fit is tight as is the barrel. It should be a good shooter. The black oxide on the controls and sights could be darker but it’s a production gun.

Yes 380. Should be lite on the recoil.

I find myself liking Tripp Cobra magazines more than Wilson's, but I also have Metalform magazines that work just as good at half the price.

I use Wilson 47D's exclusively. Most of my 1911's have never been shot with the factory mag. I usually try them just to see if they work but usually that's the last of them, they stay in the box.
Course now I'm gonna have to try Tripp Cobra magazines, sheeesh will this keep up with Greg never end.............

On the 47D's I use the metal base for carry and but the rubber buggy bumper ones on the spares so you have more to drive home with. The metal flush base adds a tiny bit of weight to ensure a good mag dump when your staring down the elephant eye to eye.

All that being said, the factory mags don't look too bad to me. I don't recall shooting them but they appear decent quality.

Nothing wrong with the OEM mags, just need more than two. I gravitated to Wilson.

So I tore down the DE. The machining is perfect. This thing locks up tight. Can’t wait to dump some rounds.
I’ll should do a head to head comparison with the CZ97 after the DE is “broke in”.

I use Wilson Combat mags in my Ballestar Molina, my S&W 1911 Sc and PC, and my Kahr CW 45 (for reloads).

GB, thanks for the suggestion about Tripp. Two just showed up. WOW they are nice. The follower action is very smooth. I’m going to order a few more while Dawson has free shipping. I’ll even grab a 10 rounder.

The indoor ranges just opened but the DNR outdoor is closed. Still haven’t fired the DE1911. Racked it about 1K while watching John Wick, Saving Private Ryan, 13 Hours and so on. I had to lock it up, was driving me nuts. Next week for sure.
