I always try to buy a new firearm on 9/11 every other year. Today I picked up a new P380 from Cabelas, cost me $390 net ($599 retail)*; RA93xx. This is a replacement for my LCP.

Haven't had a chance to shoot the P380 but I plan to in the next several weeks. If it is half as good as everyone has said so far, I will seriously think about selling the LCP, which I am close to pretty much hating (couldn't put more than 50 rds thru it).

This will be a great backup gun for next summer. :D

*At Cabelas thru Oct 3, the P380 is $600 plus tax ($650) and they will give you a $150 cash card for your next purchase (I think you need to ask)....ammo, holsters, cases, targets, etc. That makes the Kahr $500 and I found $110 savings in discounts and coupons. Cabelas prices are competitive, I picked up 80 boxes of AK ammo for $3.75/20. The $150 cash card will be easy to use.

You'll love it. Best choice for a take anywhere 380. I also have a Kel-Tec I'm very fond of when pocket carry is the only option. Easier to carry, but a little harder to shoot. I love them both.

Careful when putting the slide back on that you don't jam up the tab on top of the trigger bar. (Pokes through the frame on the right rear by the back rail). I always massage the trigger a little as I'm moving the slide back on so it seats correctly. Can easily be wedged against/outside the slide.

Don't worry if you see a few plastic shavings when cleaning. Part of the mating process. The polymer that looks like rail is just there to help guide the slide on smoother.

When I get a new Kahr, I always manually cycle the slide a few hundred times (or more) while sitting around doing nothing. Saves me dough in the break-in period and keeps my hand muscles in shape.

I have never had a feeding/eject issue with any Kahr from day 1 that wasn't my fault - and I've got 4 of 'em. I've got more "learn the hard way" tips if anyone has nothing else better to do...

That's a great price!

No kidding, wish I could stumble into another one at that price.
