Desert Eagle 50cal.
Not for me but I can appreciate a fine weapon when I see one. Even when they weigh as much as my head. It felt pretty good in the hand, I just couldn't lift my arm. :)
If I was made of money I would be tempted, just to carry it in the open and watch leftist faces turn purple with anger.
Those are engravings of his kids on the grips.

Now that's a BBQ gun. Iffen I was a bit, ok a lot richer I'd give that a home in a heart beat.

Not only richer but have a set of hips that could handle that weight.
Definitely not a pocket pistol.

You can pack a lot on a wheelchair, it's a rolling weight, kind of like a dry heat.

Have a friend that carried one for years, concealed. It can be done. He has serious health problems, and cannot exercise. Carried it well.
I wouldn't carry one due to action type and lack of cocked and locked, but he pulled it off. He's used it a few times also....apparently it has a solid track record of ending criminal behavior without the need of a trigger pull.

Lack of cocked and locked? I thought Desert Eagles were single action? Pretty sure they are.

They are strictly a novelty gun. Far to heavy for carry. I think Cartels like them for intimidation factor.
I had one for awhile, very cool looking, not practical in any way and far to expensive to shoot. I had several barrels and caliber options for mine [I bought it cheap/ due to owner wanting to dump it].

Good way to look at it..."intimidation factor." I'd say it'd have that. LOL. Yes, single action, but no cocked and locked ability. So hammer down till one needs to fire, then thumb cocking. Huge thing, very heavy, ammo crazy expensive, but whatever a person wants.
He's now gone to an FNX 45 Tactical.

Why is that? I've shot a buddy's DE and the safety can be operated with the hammer cocked.

That's what I thought also. Don't make a lick of sense to not have cocked and locked capability.

It would be kind of like dragging an old cannon behind you "very big and cool" surely the criminal wouldn't mind waiting till you load it.....because he would be to intimidated to stop you.

An unloaded gun is just, well, unloaded. The self defender is always one step behind the bad guy, thus a weapon not instantly ready is just too slow.

If the gun is unloaded a can of soup will do just as well and is a lot cheaper. No permit needed and if you walk over and pick it up you are reloaded.

I've always wanted a DE 44.
But they tend to be really expensive and I've read reports of ammo sensitivity and unreliability.
So I've stayed away.

I have a 629 Classic Hunter, about the same with a full underlug barrel. Never shot it much but it's much loved.

Gave my last big boomer .44 to one of my sons. Good thing, as current ammo prices are prohibitive for those things if one is not a reloader.

Sometimes I stick this one in an ankle holster and go jogging. Never know when you may encounter a looting rino!

That thing needs a stock instead of a grip.
