Hi folks, have been wanting a K9 for the longest time. Found one for $770 including shipping. No night sights, just a stainless K9 without night sights. Also, will it have the “NYPD trigger” or the Kahr trigger I’ve come to love? Worth the price or is that too much? Wanted y’alls opinion before I jump the gun, thank you.

It won't have the NYPD trigger unless it's new very old stock. Most likely not.

I'd comparison shop, check gunbroker, grab a gun, several others, and see what the ball park is. Seems like a lot to me but they aren't cheap either.

Wow, they are almost non existent at the moment. Grab a Gun shows a stainless one for 721. A few for a bit more. None show on Gunbroker or Buds........

exactly, right now, they’re absolutely impossible to find. According to websites showing past sales, they go from anywhere from $670 to $900. I think I’m going to purchase it tomorrow morning. I’ve wanted one forever and while not the lowest price, it’s not the worst either.

Whats the old saying? "You either payed too much or bought it too soon" $760 sounds pretty high to me, but I'm old. If you have to pay additional state tax and dealer xfer costs you will be in to this thing >$800. The price of a nice used P210A.

I bought my DLC K9 in March this year. I payed 598 at Buds. That's 30% less than today's price? No where else can I get that kind of return on my investments.

Since I've owned my K9, a Glock 48 entered my life. This gun was conceived for folks that would never buy another Glock (me). A friend at the range had one and let me handle and shoot it. I had mine on order the next day, $500 at RK Guns. I don't know why I complicate my life like this but it is really a tough call on which one gets to come to the range with me.

An old B-I-L would say "you will never have another chance to buy this gun." That got me in trouble more than once.

Good luck.

Went ahead and bought it, $770 total. Not the cheapest but I’ve also seen it go for much more. Just saw one 3 weeks ago for $900 on Guns.com. Just checked Buds, same gun is going for $706, DLC for $713 (before shipping/tax). The ones I have seen used have gone from about $575-650 on gunbroker. I’d rather pay the $100 extra, buy new and have the 5 year warranty. I’ve checked them everyday for months and no K9s in stock at all. Paying the extra $50 for something I really wanted isn’t too big of a deal to me.

I might’ve saved $100 if I waited but with the elections but the real potential for many gun control bills with the Georgia senate elections being the deciding factor, I have no idea when I would be able to get another one. I’ve been looking for what feels like forever so I look forward to it getting here. Thanks for everyone’s advice, I’ll be sure to post pics when it arrives

Do you have a lead on a used P210A at that price? A friend shot my Standard the other day; now, he is jonesing for one of his own.

One of my theories is "Walk or make payments". You wanted the K9 obviously badly. That's reason enough to get one. You did your due diligence in finding one and waited long enough and then some. I say you done good. If you don't mention my name you can tell the wife I said it was a good thing and I have your back.

Years ago I asked one of my dealers to get me a PM45. His response was you don't want one of those they are so expensive. Same guy I bought my K40 from his inventory. I just said ok and ordered it through another shop. Don't stand between a man and his gun desires.

Many guys put far more money than that into aftermarket stuff on guns. Do what works best for you.

I love my P210 Target. Like your K9 I waited a long time to get one, almost lowered my standards to get a standard (now there's a sentence for ya). I'm still glad I didn't. It's one I break out often just to hold and admire. Love that gun.

If you wanted it, could afford it, and are happy, you did OK. Gun prices have skyrocketed so much since March if you can find what you want, get it. Who knows what the future holds. I paid about $70 more than I wanted for a P365XL but it wasn’t the highest price I’d seen online, they had it in stock, and I picked it up in 5 days. I’m Happy I got it. You did good.

It's times like now that you just buy anything and everything you can even if you don't really even want it.
I've got several in the past Clinton Obama years that I bought just because they said they didn't want me too.

Right now get any mags that hold more than 10 rounds even for guns you don't own (yet). I'm tempted to order an AR pistol upper. I don't have an AR pistol but it's legal long as I don't put it on anything and if/when the rules go out the window and we return to the old west, who will care.

Thank you to everyone, I seriously can’t wait for it to get here! I was tired of waiting xD

That’s pretty much where I’m at. I want to get what I want now because, all politics completely aside, if the 2 historically super anti-gun Democratic senators win the Georgia runoff, the senate will be split 50/50, making Kamala Harris the tie breaker. Again, all politics aside, Kamala has been more than vocal about being anti-gun so she will vote for any and all gun control.

If that happens, demand will shoot up... again. I didn’t want to take my chances as I’m sure y’all understand

I appreciate it, I’m happy with it. Plan on getting a Hidden Hybrid holster for it. I’ll baby it for a while like I always do with new guns but then will start carrying it more often. Have been wanting a solid belt gun that shoots well, awesome trigger, not super light or short b/c carry gun, and something that wasn’t butt ugly (we all know what gun I’m talking about ;))

The K9 checked all those boxes and then some. 2 ounces more loaded than a loaded Glock 26. I personally don’t like Glocks, had so many different models, all 9mm, all .40, and the 42 and I’ve sold them all. I’d take 8 rounds I can drive nails with rather than 11 rounds I wouldn’t feel comfortable using accurately in a defensive-shooting

Just a heads up from a Georgia Resident, I have a real bad feeling about the January Senate runoff race...Six months ago I wouldn't have dreamed Uncle Joe could possibly take Georgia but he did and I figured the Senate race was a Republican shoe in but both Republicans David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler are taking a lot of heat for their Stock Market trades right after the Senate found out in January 2020 just how bad Covid was going to be on the US economy....I am hoping for a win for Purdue and Loeffler because both of the two Democrat challengers, Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock are extreme radical left, anti gun/2nd amendment haters and if they both win, it will possibly be the beginning of the end of gun rights in America so if you are thinking about buying any firearm especially an AR rifle or pistol and even a handgun holding more than 10 rounds, or any internet purchase of ammo or firearms then you better get to it and don't be sorry because it's a very real possibility the Democrats will control both the House and Senate in 2021 and gun rights as we know them today will become a long lost memory which is a very scary thought....

We forget that they are just congress and the senate people. They can try to change the constitution but we just don't allow that to happen. They try to back door by messing with ammo and manufacturers since they can't just ban em which makes it tough for us normal folks.

When they pull their stuff we just all become outlaws I guess. I don't know of any law enforcement who will enforce any of their stuff. A light bulb in my head today told me to buy more Henry's. A 44 and a 357. They announced this week that all centerfire rifles now will be sidegates, so you can load like a Winchester or remove the tube. A great set up.
I got lots of 44 and 357 brass and bullets and I think primers so we can hold em off with those.

It's a fine thing that the citizens of this country have in their possession over 400 million firearms so that the Socalist Politicans know what the cost will be if they try it.....Please if you must, come and take them....

I was always personally against war/the draft, etc. but I’ve concluded there is 2 things I would happily go down fighting for: 1. A war on US soil or 2. Fighting and dying for my 2nd amendment rights. Those are 2 situations where I will have no issue going down fighting but those 2 and only those 2

I misspoke. By about $400 more or less.

Suggest your friend read this thread then hop over to Buds and order him up a bran-spanking new P210A Target fo only $1499.99. They're in stock.

Also, if you reload 9 for your SIG, and wouldn't mind sharing some of your favorite load data I wonder if you might PM me?

My plan was always to get the Target (done) and then make or find a set of standard grips in case I decide to carry it. The Target grips are spectacular and I love the way they feel but not conducive for carry.

Also, any truth to the metal-framed Kahr’s, in particular the K9, having a better track record/overall reliability than their polymer framed brothers?

Bawanna
11-25-2020, 06:03 PM
I'd say the metal has an overall better track record, I got nothing solid to back that up with but seems like less problems, course now days everybody wants tupperware, so anytime there's more of something you'll hear about it more.
On your gun transfer, you tell them to log it before closing or stuff it. I've been waiting forever to pick up my last acquisition. It's mostly county sheriffs fault for taking too long for back ground check but it's also when they sent a dozen at a time on the last day, the shops don't call timely. My current shop is notorious for bad communication. Times are crazy good for them now like most with all the panic buying, but they won't always be that way. Then just maybe they'll miss me.

Just read a conversation on why some might choose the standard over the target, besides the couple hundred dollars difference. Centered on the rear sight and the grip. And is the P210A really a target gun?

I did take notice of the red dot adapter that was offered on one of the web sites you mentioned. I have a burris fastfire ll looking for a home. Hmmm. $100. Seems like a lot, but I guess you pay for functionality. I think I need to re-read this thread.

I would be interested in the loads your your friend has worked up for his nines. I got a few for my g48 and K9 that are ok and comfortable to shoot. I'm always amazed how the 135gr bullets recoil less (<1K fps) and seem to be the most accurate. I'm just a plinker and don't expect I'll ever have to shoot somebody.

Buds has the standard, too. In stock as of this afternoon.
