I was gonna say, if Kahr isn't planning to compete in this segment, they'd better be developing whatever's next. I have a feeling even Keltec will come out with a new maxi-mousegun, since they dropped the P11.

When it gets to $200 or less I’ll probably get one. I picked up a G2C for $175 a couple of years ago and after a little pre-firing tweaking its ran 500 flawless rounds. For $200 or less it’s worth getting one I’d say. I wouldn’t pay $300 unless I had no other gun and was low on money.

Let’s see how long it takes for the recoil spring to go out the front of the gun. It also appears that you need a screw driver in order to field strip it. Just because it’s assembled in the USA, you have to remember who did the engineering.

If I were looking for a micro 9mm simply because he had 10 rd magazine which I think is nonsense for practical carry, I would look into the GX4.After shooting a Sig 365 for example, I was not impressed. Nor others that shot the gun with my Range group of 5 that test out new Pistols and fires a thousand rounds during that testing. Not worth the $650-700 price. Especially since the Taurus is MSRP of $392. And many single stacks out there that shoot better. The Sig with such a narrow space between receiver and grip was ridiculous. Not much room for the off hand. And the the only way I would carry the Sig would be with a safety.
I have never owned a Taurus, however the G Series has a lot of happy customers. Most give them a high rating that own them. This new gun looks from the video like it will be huge success . I really like the way Taurus did the features of this gun. Very streamline, without bulky take down or slide stop. I like the way the did the grip and take down. Personally would not want a Sig without a safety, but the new Taurus appears to have a better EDC flat trigger. Interchangeable Back-strap and I like the indexing pad. Easy take down with stainless steel chassis. Comes with either two 10 rd or 11 round mags both fit the gun the same without any difference in length. Bravo to them for this. I would love to shoot one. Seems like Taurus has done some homework. Bravo to them.
Looking forward to shooting and comparing. If the Gx4 is not as snappy as the Sig and it does appear to be a MILD shooter, it will be a winner!

I've never had luck with Taurus. I still own a couple of Spectrums (Spectra?) The ergonomics are great and I got them at unbelievable prices. But they're not reliable even after factory "repairs." I keep them mostly because its easier than getting rid of them. One is in my range bag because its not a bad shooter and also it will fail a couple times every range session and provide practice dealing with that.
I also know a guy who hurt himself with a G2, claims it discharged without a trigger pull. They have a firing pin block, so I dunno if I believe him, but I wouldn't get a Taurus to rely on as an edc at this point.

I’ve had good luck with the modern tauri semi auto’s. TX22, G2c and G3c’s. I would not hesitate to purchase one of these and most likely will at some point. Looks like a great value when compared to similar offerings by the others. This post is the first I’ve heard of it, so thanks to the original poster.

I will agree about the Spectrum. I shoot the pocket guns often and actually had high hopes for it when it came out. However I would not purchase one with a aluminum frame. I then tested the gun and it sucked. I mean just terrible. I shoot pocket guns very well, but just could not get the Spectrum to come close to what I can do with a Kahr or Pico. And I have so many failures. You do not see many post about them any longer. At least I do not and I love pocket guns.
That said, the G SERIES IS A WHOLE NEW BALLGAME. Great reports of reliabilty and many happy customers. See them many times at my club. All positive reviews.
In fact we have a small group that test new firearms. We will test the new GX in the near future. The GX4 is not a cheap aluminum chassis firearm. It appears to be real quality.
And NO, lol this is NOT the demise of the great Kahr CM/PM9. Hardly. a few extra rounds which no study anywhere says you need for practical EDC exist that I have seen. NOR any real shooting in my city of a half million. A real advancement would be a firearm with the same size and weight of the Kahr. And the quality that goes with it. Will I buy the new Taurus. Most likely not. And certainly not for a few extra rounds. But just for the sake of comparing it will be interesting. I do like to see a underdog go head to head with guns costing so much more. And this gun might be a real winner.
One thing for sure, if the Taurus is proven to be a good reliable gun, it is sure to cause a LOT of JEALOUS post.

I've owned 9 Taurus pistols, and had zero issues with them. I still own 4 of them. Great pistols, and they're putting out some very good affordable pistols right now. Despite what the naysayers say, their firearms are selling in high numbers and from what I've seen, seems like 99.9% of the people who own their current offerings are happy with them.

I have 2 of the GX4s. Here's how I rank the micros, and I really like my 3 Sigs:
Top Gun (best fit and finish, ergonomics, trigger, everyone in our group shoots it best. Impeccable construction): Taurus GX4
Second: P365
Third: Springfield Hellcat (nice gun, but the squared off, thick upper grip is painful for many to shoot)
Fourth: Ruger Max (horrible construction, sloppiest frame to slide fit I have ever seen on any pistol, aluminum frame rails that wear quickly, but a nice optic mount)
Shield Plus: The biggest, but with the highest bore axis and the least amount of grip for fingers. Meh trigger, heavy for class, everyone shoots it poorly.
Just my opinion. The Taurus, is the nicest gun at any price in the group. I don't like an optic, or to mount things on a rail, but lots of folks do. So, there's that.

Interesting, I may have to look at the Taurus. Shot my 365 today for the first time and wasn't totally impressed. It was plenty accurate but rather obnoxious for a 9. I messed up and left my two critical range bags at home which had a few tools, cleaning stuff and most importantly most of my mags and worst of all my 45/70 ammo so don't get to shoot my new Sharps. Consider my heart broken. Also messed up my hearing as I had to buy some ear plugs since my muffs were in the left behind bag. Wasn't one of my best range days.

On your next trip, when you pull the flight safety instructions from the seatback, would you rather it said "Welcome to the "Boeing 737MAX" or "Welcome to the Embraer E-2"?
I'm always careful who I call third world countries these days. Were you inplying that if it were also assembled in Brazil, then the recoil spring would remain intact?

What nonsense, first of all you do not even realize they obviously used the same take down design as the Beretta Nano and APX. Which it is a super easy take down procedure. And taking the chassis completely out is a simple task. NO, you do NOT need a screw driver. Anything with a flat edge like a shell casing etc. So simple. Allows the entire parts of the chassis and trigger parts easy to clean, change parts if necessary and grips. Funny you are making assertions to a gun you never once fired, have no clue about and just the typical bashing so common with newbie shooters. How about you tell us all the problems with the Sig 365 when it first came out? Actually there is a List of them. A host of problems. But I guess it is easy to bash a firearm you have not even taken to the range. Sheesh. I will wait and compare the gun with other Micro 9mm's which I have shot all of them side by side except the New Ruger. And I have NO dog in this fight. Again, I do not even have a desire for a double stack Micro 9mm and have never owned a Taurus. But that could change. And for sure, If the GX4 is successful and every single indication it is, it will cause a Jealousy assault by all the Sig fans for sure. Lol, looks like it already has.
So you might want to remember which engineers designed the Sig before you start throwing stones. Taurus seems to have gotten it right, right out of the box.

We are really looking forward to shooting this gun.The features are impressive. What I really like so far over the others is as Hickcock45 quoted. I really like this trigger. A very DISTINCT wall. I am not personally interested in the gun. But I do enjoy testing them with others. Nice to actually be able to comment on a firearm that you have actually shot and tested and have first hand knowledge about with others. It will cost me. Each member has to contribute 250 rds of precious ammo. But, I will go into my reserves to have a little fun. It should be interesting. What I also find interesting is Business Management. If Taurus can be successful with such adversity behind them then then it is a come back story in the annals of firearm history. Good Leadership is so important to any company. One that can Inspire others and shoot for the best. I personally hope they are successful, I hope the GX4 is successful. I have a tendency to root for the underdog. Especially if they come back fighting.
If Taurus is ready to step into the rint to take on the Big Dogs, it will be most interesting.

Me too. I carry either a G2c or G3c when my waist size allows, CW9 all other times, so it would replace one of the Taurus for those times. I hope it is all it has been said to be. I do think Taurus has upped their game. I’ve been very happy with the 2 G’s and the TX22’s, when just a few years ago I would not give anything Taurus a look, unless it was a wheel gun. Thanks for the future feedback King Rat. I’m looking forward to it!

On Sunday, went to the club I belong to, met 4 others to test out the gun. Came home and ordered the GX4. Liked it as soon as I picked it up. Bought it from KYNGUN. for $306.(Don't let anyone tell you, that this is not a quality gun. All 4 of us loved it.
(Note) 4 of us contributed 100 rounds of mixed ammo and the gun ran flawless. The gun was owned by one of the members. So a total of 400 rounds. I really like the trigger. The "Distinct" wall was what I wanted if I cannot have a DAO.
I will be putting a lot of ammo through this gun as soon as I get it. But my initial impression were
1) I really like the grip. Nice texturing, felt great as soon as I picked it up. Balance was fantastic. More solid feel than my 365XL for my large hand and I like the stream lined way Taurus did this gun.
Magazines for this gun are very nice quality
Like the fact that it will take Glock Night Sights. The gun we shot had a Night Fision Front sight which I really liked, so may get that. They sell them at Lakeline for around $50.00.
I really like the way the Taurus breaks down. Very similar to my Beretta Nano and Carry.
Really nice quality chassis. All stainless steel with the long steel rails.
Again, I will be adding more info after I shoot about 500 rds and again at 1,000 rds after I receive it. So far very impressed. By the way, this is my first Taurus so do not carry any baggage or bias toward the manufacturer. From all points so far, it looks like Taurus really took some time to engineer this pistol.
Just for comparison there is the Sig and GX4

I just read a review from another Owner of both guns which is very nice with Picture comparisons. I seem to agree with him on just about everything from my own experience. The one thing I disagreed with was his view of the Slide Stop. I am a big Kahr fan for example and the one complaint I have with the Kahr is the bulky slide stop. The reviewer in this article preferred it, so you choose.
The Pictures of both guns are so similar. Pay particular attention to the Grips, This is where the Big difference for me came into play. The GX4 just plain out fits my hand so much better and again ships with two back straps. Consequently I shoot the GSX better. But your shooting may vary.

When it gets to $200 or less IÂ’ll probably get one. I picked up a G2C for $175 a couple of years ago and after a little pre-firing tweaking its ran 500 flawless rounds. For $200 or less itÂ’s worth getting one IÂ’d say. I wouldnÂ’t pay $300 unless I had no other gun and was low on money. It's really all their worth. Never understood why people need so many carry guns anyway. Use the money for practice ammo. Half the people that purchase these plastic fantastics would have to throw them to hit something. Way too early to tell how they'll work out. Really don't like inexperienced shooters carrying guns like these. :( Not bashing the information or post. Lots of good info. You would probably be surprised at how many people purchase these types of firearms and carry them, never having shot a round through them. IMHO, most of them feel, and operate the same. It all comes down to the trigger for me.

It would seem to me that a small firearm would work in just about any situation that didn't require major distance shooting. I've handled many, shot a few, owned a few. Hence, my questioning the reason to have a lot of them. Unless you have an endless money supply. Or unless you need one for every day of the week. Kind of like the dish towel thing, with the name of the day embroidered on the corners. :p

That makes sense.
I have two that I carry, P365 and an LCP Max, depending on how I’m dressed. The LCP Max replaced an LCP Gen 2 for carry. I tend to only buy guns that I can conceal carry but given I already have all that I need for that maybe a range toy should be next on the list.
I think the whole thing about having a bunch of them is somewhat driven by boredom or just wanting to try something new. I’ll admit I’d like to try a GX4. I like the way it looks, it gets really good reviews, seems well made and is relatively cheap although if I did get one, I’d likely never carry it.

I tend to buy anything that goes bang really loud and spits a projectile. I have a couple weeks worth of everyday 1911's and a handful of compacts. Very few see daily carry but I do agree it's about variety, what I feel like. Most days I don't leave the property but I always got something hanging on the belt. When I do leave I sometimes add to it, an extra mag usually. Other than that I'm ready to go.
Our state is pushing for another 10rd mag ban, passed the house, doubt it will pass the senate but one never knows. Thought about another 10 pack of AR mags but why let the liberals support the market place.
My youngest just got a Springfield AR, I gave him 3 or 4 30 round PMags. He asked how many I had for myself, told him 12 or 13 give or take.

Im in this boat right here. I have enough pistols to carry a different one every week for a good year. Tried to figure out what I could sell but didn’t come up with any. I will let the kids have one or 2 if they need it or see something that they really like.
Thought about another 10 pack of AR mags but why let the liberals support the market place.
I’d get them. Rifles I don’t have as many of but AR mags, I buy ‘‘em cheap and stack them deep. I figure if I die before I get to use or need them, I’m leaving something behind that my heirs may not be able to get and who knows, they may be worth more. I’ve got a Sig pistol my dad carried that he was given by a FBI agent in Mobile that I wish he would have bought more mags for. They’ve been discontinued now and the only place to get them is some place like gun broker for $50 each. They wouldn’t have cost that much 30 years ago in 1992.

I like to try different guns out. I love guns. I would try every single one ever made if I could. Very few ever become “keepers” though. As far as a “carry rotation” that hasn’t changed much in years. A pocket gun and one on my hip. Summertime hip gun is a CW9 and wintertime hip gun is an M&P 9. Soon going to have a CW45 again, so that may be my summer hip gun. Enough trigger time with the pocket, summer and winter gun to feel confident with them. Anything and everything else is just for fun at the range, or to tinker on.
I definitely need to get some more Pmags. Got plenty of Glock “fun sticks” for the AR9’s, but am lacking on mags (and ammo presently) for the AR15’s. Now you guys got me going to spend more $!!!

The problem with me is the fact that I just love shooting. More so than the benefits that EDC give me. Although the need to carry for protection is growing more each and every day.I had really planned to not buy another carry gun again. Have too many as it is. It really was not a issue before the ammo shortage, or a big issue. But everything has been cut in half. And it sucks. Not only ammo more expensive, but so is everything thing else. Lol, I went to the club to try out the GX4 with zero thought of thinking about the desire to buy one. I just went to have a little fun. And yet, came home and ordered one right away. But Hey, you only live once right? Looking forward to spending range time with the new gun. (The gun I really do not need.)

Nice to see new offerings. I keep reading about quality improvements in Taurus firearms which is great. When I started getting serious about defensive handguns...in the mid 1970's...Taurus wasn't a manufacturer that got much consideration. This GX4 looks interesting but I'm disappointed in the sights that come on the gun. I'd also like to see an optic mounting option. Ah well....you know what they say about people in hell and icewater.
Overall...congratulations to Taurus, but I'm not rushing out to buy one.

Yes, range time has been severely cut back on. Back then, I thought, “why buy all the reloading stuff” when ammo was so cheap? When the prices jacked up on ammo, I saw the reloading stuff go up and primers get to be as non existent as ammo, so it was a catch 22. Oh, the couda, shouda, wouda’s in life!!!

I picked up the gun sat morning. Got in the car and broke it down. Noticed it was very dry. I did a quick lube and headed off to the range.. Brought along 200 rounds of mixed ammo. To include 115 gr to 147. Defense loads and Steel case. Mixed the mags up with all. The gun ran 100% reliable. I used the standard grip. Which fit very well for my size large hand. The gun shoots very mild. This is a easy gun for anyone to transition to. Trigger is very nice with the "Distinct" wall. The ability to use the off hand on the slide is a very nice feature for control. The Grip texture is course, but that is the way I like a small gun. No need for talon grips etc. I measured the Trigger pull with a Lyman digital at a tad over 5lbs. The Glock style front sight started to come loose, but a quick take down fixed that. It need lock tight.
I had my UPULA in another range bag and so could only load 8 rounds in the 11 rd magazines. (They are now loaded full and taking a set).
When I arrived home from the range a new 13 rd mag was on the door step from Sheels. (Extremely fast shipping).
The mag fits great, and provides a longer grip if that is what you like. I also installed the larger back strap which is wonderful for my size large hand and long fingers. It brought the trigger finger into a much better position.
I have a couple of pinky extension ordered by have not arrived yet. I also order the "Finger Rest" from Lakeline. I am really looking forward to try that out. Not just for the rest but for fast drawing. So far I am really impressed by this gun. They seem to have taken the best from other models and put into GX4. Hope to make it out today to try the larger back strapl.

I never heard of a Gee plate, but just looked it up and saw them for the 365. They appear to be about the same. I have not received it yet but will post after I get it and have shot with it.. I also have Pinky extensions that should arrive any day. Since the arrival of the GX4 quite a few accessories have come out. I like how you can buy extra mag springs very inexpensively(5.99) for one. You can also get for example besides pinky extensions. A new 2+ extension with Spring for the 10 or 11 rd mag.
One of my favorite holsters for my Kahr CM9 is the DeSantis OWB and it was nice to see my new CX4 fit into that perfectly. I will post a pic later. But that will not help you with the Red Dot. I am sure there will be many holsters available soon, if not already.

I took the GX4 out again yesterday and ran another two hundred rounds through it. And totally reliable. I used the 13 rd magazine and the larger back strap. This gun is very easy to shoot good groups with fast action and it has very little muzzle flip for a Micro. . Once you get use to it, fast head shots at 15 yds is relatively easy. The trigger is, from all the micro's the best you are going to get for something close to a Kahr trigger. It has a little take up then pressure going to the wall which is then distinct. I mean you know it is a wall and then pressure to go though it, but the wall is not hard at the 5lbs of pull. It really is a nice trigger. However. It is not that sweet, buttery smooth DA Kahr Trigger which I love. Also firing 400 rounds in two days with the Glock style trigger safety made my Trigger finger a little sore. Not the whole finger from recoil or anything, but just where it engages the Glock Pre-trigger or what ever it is you call it. My Beretta Nano and APX Carry are the same way.
The GPX is quality, every bit as Good as the Sig and the ergonomics are far superior. At the range store yesterday I noticed a lot more used guns than I have seen in years. In fact they had 4 used Sig 365's for sale at $450. They also had a nice Beretta APX Carry for sale at $299. They also had Fiochio 9mm on sale for $17.99 a box of 50 which is great for this place. They also have plenty of 9mm in stock but for around $25-30 a box. It was not long ago they did not have squat. (Lol, seems the More Taliban Joe's rating go down, so does the cost of ammo, which is good as his ratings are going down hill like a freight train to hell, bad news is the Country is going with him)
This is the best Micro 9mm high capacity I have seen and shot. It appears Taurus took the best of all the guns and put them into the GX4, with the same quality as the Sig etc. and just improved the entire gun.
That said, the Kahr is still a niche manufacture and I can see why it will still be a favorite of some like myself. The 3 oz more of The GX4 like all the others is significant. I personally cannot see myself carrying the 13 rd magazine. In reality, I think I will be carrying my Kahr for a EDC. Time will tell. But there is something about the Kahr that is, well, you just have to own one to know what I am talking about.
Maybe the quote below will be notorious some day.
"The Kahr CM9, there is just something about them"

Thanks for the comprehensive review and comments. I've had the same "trigger finger discomfort" you describe, when running large amounts of ammo through my Glock in a single range session. Doesn't really bother me these days as I'm no longer firing 2-300 rounds at a pop. In the TORO configuration, this could be my entry into an optic EDC handgun without having to spend a grand or more..just to give it a try.

Thanks for the review. This really does seem like a great offering in the micro 9 market (i.e. another nail in the CM9/PM9 coffin).
Price and build quality are its strongest features. Ergonomics and trigger are subjective so while some may prefer the GX4, others will prefer the P365 or one of the other offerings.

Just a update for those interested. I have been enjoying this gun for the past three weeks. Now 550 rds of mixed ammo and flawless. I did install the Night Fusion sight (yellow) and lt seems as good as my Truglo sights on my Kahr and other guns. It was about $45 for the front sight. Install was very easy. (Glock Style, buy the Glock front sight installer if you do not have one, cost is $5.00).
I have both the mag extensions from Taurus and Lakeline. The Lakeline feels better, however when shooting I do not notice the difference. And the Taurus more than half the price at only $5.00. I also have the Finger rest/support from Lakeline. Man, I like this, but just not quite a good fit for my Large hand. Just a tad too small. I shot quickly with it, but my shots went high. Someone with a smaller hand might really like this. Makes the hand feel snug. Secure grip.
I also like the fact that Taurus sells recoil springs for only $6.00. And a extension of +2 and spring for $10.00 for the 11 rd mag. The Mags are very good quality made by Mec-Gar in Italy. I also bought a extra recoil spring for $12.00.
My LGS already has a large supply of Mags.
For those that love the Kahr and use the Slide lock/Release, then you will love the GX4. It is very easy, smooth to release. I really enjoy shooting this gun. And for me, very easy to control and mild shooting.

Those parts and accessories sure are priced very affordably. Wish other manufacturers would follow their lead on that. I still want a GX4, even though I’ve moved up the 45 for carry. I just want to give one a go for a bit. Glad you like it. You have put enough rounds through it to speak for it being a pretty good buy, at least in my eyes.

Agree Bird. Looking at the build of this gun and comparing it to others and the parts makes me wonder why other manufacturers cannot do the same. People will pay for a name recognition. A example. I visited the Trane Manufacturing plant in Texas. This was when American Standard bought out Trane. I walked the entire assembly process of each unit. The only difference was at the very end of the assembly line. It would split off. One unit would go left the other right and then the Grill placed on. One would be American Standard the other Trane. Same product. Yet people would pay a minimum of $500 more for a Trane over the American Standard no matter how many times you would tell them they are the same exact product.
Man I love marketing. It is obvious on many products I have seen over the years. Advertising will sell a lot of products, and the company that advertises with big dollars is going to pass on that cost to the consumer. I guess we could devote a new thread for marketing of firearms and marketing that cold go on forever.

I know what you mean. I’ve toured various manufacturing facilities in the past with work I once did and saw the exact same thing. It’s like many of the generics out there in that it’s the exact same product, just in another package. I think Taurus really learned their lesson with the bad rap they had and have reeled in both a lot of new customers, as well as rekindled some that had once a bad taste in their mouth for them. A lot could be learned from their business by other makers, I do believe.

FYI, anyone Purchasing the GX4 which is less than the standard model but thinking of Purchasing the TORO because it is optics ready but not sure if you want optics can simply purchase a new receiver that is already cut for $150.00. Just another option. (Just change out the recoil spring or better yet, just buy another recoil spring for $10.00). Especially given the fact that optics are so costly. I prefer just a front night sight. But I like options.

Update, now have 700 rds of mixed ammo through the gun with Zero issues. I have to say this is the best shooting Micro I have personally shot. I am going to slow down on shooting it as 700 rds has proven it's reliability, at least to me. I just received a Toro Slide for $150.00. I will put 300 rds through it for reliability. It has the Optics cut. I really did not buy it for the Optics. I usually purchase two guns of a firearm I like, one for range and one for Carry, but this is a ideal way to go. I am not much into RMR's. Have one on my Sig 365XL which I will give to my son when he returns home from Iraq. I may purchase a cheap RMR for the Taurus just to play around with. Really do not see much use for them on a Micro 9mm when I have years of proficient point and shoot skills.
The Army issued my son a Sig 320 which he says he loves, so might Purchase one for him when he get's home. (will be expensive especially with a Trijicon RMR. For a Duty gun I can understant why they would be a asset at the distance accuracy and quickness they provide) The Trijicon alone is about $600.

Thanks to all. I appreciate the support and I will pass it on to him. He is not a Officer, but a medic. The Kid loves the Army. Even Iraq. Say's he works all kinds of hours. Starts early at Sick call, said he bought a bike and goes out to he "Guns" at night. I asked him why, he said just to give them Moral support. They later gave him a Pickup truck which is a big help. Said he puts a Corn Hole in the back to take to the troops. There are a lot of fine young men and women that serve our Country. Sometimes I think folks over look this with so much Antifa, burning the flag etc.
Yea the GX4 has worked out nicely. Had to go into my stash to get that many rounds out. But had fun. I need to start selling some gun. Times are not like they use to be when you could shoot for hardly nothing. I have guns that just sit in the safe now. Have not even shot some of my revolvers which I love to do. Again, might put a cheap RMR on the GX4. Anyone have any recommendations?

He did not think they would issue him one. But he is glad they did. He said he is so busy, carrying around a rifle all day would have been a nuisance. The Shield from my research is a top, solid performer. I just now purchase a cheap sight (SIGHTMARK), no big deal if it does not work out. Might even fit on one of my shotguns. Will have to check it out.
I got one on sale from Sportsmens club. Somewhere around $152.00 with coupon.

Red Dot on GX4. Well, the red dot came in and had a good time shooting it. I put on the Sight Mark which was a simple install on the Toro slide. It makes for a nice small package for carry. With years of good point and shoot skills from the past, I still am having a hard time adjusting to the Red Dots.(own the Sig 365XL Romeozero as well) . I took the GX4 to the indoor range this after noon and will be shooting Steel on Sunday. The GX4 is a marvelous shooter, and the Sight Mark did it's job. Stays on all the time, simple adjustments etc. Later down the Road, IF and when I choose to go strictly RMR, I might up grade the sight. At this point, I do not believe they will ever Supersede good Point and Shoot skills below 15 yds. But I am open minded and will spend some dedicated time to learn.
I did get a chance to shoot a friends Red dot with a Holoson and that model had a unique Red dot that I found easier to quickly acquire target. The Sight Mark also came with a mount to fix to other guns like shotguns etc. So will keep the Sight Mark regardless.
PS. I also had another Night Fusion Night Sight come in. I really like these over my other night sights on have on other guns.
And after the order came in I got a email about their new Sights for Red dots. Since the GX4 takes Glock sights I might order one.

I was out shooting plates today and really not buying into a Red Dot for anything under 10 yds. Years developing good point and shoot skills still seems to trump the red dot no matter how much I try to use the Dot. I just do not understand how I am going to be faster and more accurate when I am shooting and using the Point and shoot skills by just using the Front Dot in the Peripheral view and quickly hitting center mass as opposed to taking the time to actually look through the window of the red dot. I have been trying, but just not working. Yes, a duty gun I can see how they would benefit, due to the yardage needed.
Heck, I then started shooting the 380 and no problem banging the targets 10-15 yds with just point shooting.
I asked my son in Iraq when I got a chance to talk to him recently. if he was getting any trigger time with his Sig 320, and he replied that he was. I should have asked him if the Army was now using a red dot on them. Something I will ask next time.
One thing for sure, IMO if you are going to learn the Dot, then get a 22.cal. I do not want to waste more 9mm ammo trying to perfect a new skill that might not be as good as a present skill that took decades to hone. 22.cal is a whole lot cheaper.

Man, I'm with you. I had red dotted up the Sig 365 I once owned... sold it not too long after. I really tried to like it, but am so glad I started shooting instinctive. I think anything, sights, red dots or whatever, they take time to aquire a sight picture. For range plinking with a 1911 for fun to see that ragged hole, sure. But for defense, I want to get those 2 shots on target before the bad guy knows whats going on. Not a "hold on, let me line everything up Mr bad guy" scenario.

Well, after well over the 1,000 rd review, the GX4 is still running 100%. When my son came home from Iraq we took his new Sig 320 to the range. When we were finished, I asked him if he wanted to try a new gun I had, the GX4. He had not shot any Pistol other than the 320 since he left. He took to it like a fish takes to water. Excellent fast fire groups from the start. It is a very nice shooting firearm
Some things I noticed now after the 1,000 round mark, is the slide wear is showing, not the best I have seen. I also see that if the gun were to go down for a issue, Taurus does not sell any Parts. You have to send in the gun. The good news is that they are averaging 10 working days to get the gun back.
That said, the main parts in the receiver, striker assembly, extractor, springs etc can easily be bought with a slide. I did purchase another one, this one Nitrate coated. You can get them now in cerakote as well.
My cost was $115.00 after coupon.
I plan on doing a 2,000 rd review hopefully by the middle of summer.

Glad it's working out for you. I have the Springfield Hellcat, and have the same issue. Taurus and Springfield refuse to sell any spare parts, and will require that you send the entire gun in to replace even the simplest of parts. It's a little annoying. Good to hear that Taurus' turnover time has gotten better though, so I guess it's not that bad.

That's what I like about Kahr and Beretta. Both have a long list of replacement parts you can buy off of their website. I can get everything except for the sterilized frame or chassis from both companies. I like to invest in a couple of sets of all springs, extractor, firing pins, etc so that if the gun I plan on carrying for several years and putting thousands of rounds through ever was ever discontinued or their was another Covid level shortage, I wouldn't be in possession of a paper weight. Glock, Kahr, and Beretta are the best when it comes to support their product with parts. If anything brakes on my APX or Glocks, they are so easy to disable and replace parts that I could be at the range, and be up and running again in 15mins max. No need to send the gun in.
Springfield use to be one of my favorite manufacturers, but I won't buy another one because they refuse to sell parts, and they're know for abruptly discontinuing their firearms. I tried ordering a replacement barrel for my Shield from S&W, and was told I'd have to send it in and pay them to install one. Tried to buy a simple screw for my Ruger LCR, and was told I'd have to send the entire gun in too. I don't get it..

I'm only allowed to post up to 8 pics, but I've spend a couple of thousand in spare parts for my APX via BerettaUSA. This is only some of my order history. I'm just like you, if it's a gun/platform I plan on shooting a lot and owning for years, I stock up on spare parts. I felt like my Hellcat was going to be in the same category, but it'll probably be sold off now because I learned that Springfield doesn't sell spare parts after the fact.

Good read here and thank you to King Rat for all the pics and stuff. As a RSO is see vary few issues with the current Taurus production and I see quite a few of them come through our range. As the owner of a couple early on P365's they have become my primary carry guns and I have learned to shoot them in point, shoot, move, shoot, etc. to where I am comfortable.
What I do like about the Taurus is the grip size and shape. What I don't like with the Taurus is the split trigger and the size and shape of the trigger guard. Personal preference
What made my p365 more shooter friendly for me was moving to a Wilson Combat grip frame and installing a flat trigger. Both minor changes but the benefits in my hand made it justifiable.

I paid about $60. They have a slight palm swell wgicj really helps fill my XL hand. I look at these things as last ditch carry guns so train and shoot for acceptable accuracy. In our range I watch hundreds of shooters spend a minute on getting the proper stance, grip, and sight picture which is fine but in a gunfight this ain't gonna happen. The smart ones staple up two or three 6" pie plates, run the target out to 30', and go at it while they are moving their feet.
